Finger Nails

An hour ago a friend called round for coffee and a mutual 'doing of nails' so I serve her a nice big slice of newly made cake, she bites in, and a funny look crossed her face, but carries on to finish the slice.
With wet nails myself, and chatting I didnt have anything..however as soon as she was finished she said she didnt have the time to stay so I could do her fingernails and left.
Iv just tried said cake!!!!!!
Picture the scene
Picking up a new jar of jam from the cupboard (I make my own) I realised it was one of the ones Id forgotten to label, so pot luck flavour.
Without trying the jam first I slap it onto the newly baked sponge cake, sandwich together and served her a delicious serving of red tomato and chilli preserve sponge.
WHY did she finish it?????????

could have been worried about upsetting you, so she just ate up and left.

must be a true friend, but dont say anything and next time you meet up offer another cake and see if you get a no thanks iv'e just eaten, no i'm watching my weight, or yes please, and then tell all lol

HungryP! :small-print: Ill have you know that Iv received awards for both my chilli and tomato preserve, and cake making....just dont think I was supposed to combine the two. banghead

Al off to hang her chef's whites up and look for another job

My friend just called and apologised for leaving so quickly, I said I thought it might have something to do with my baking...and she said ohhhh no, I had to dash :shock:
We'v arranged same time next week, and she has offered to bring the cake
