from my days as a sound/lighting engineer i've seen some nasty accidents with stage fireworks and pyrotechnics and that was with trained operators.
Fireworks in my opion should only be handled by trained personel and used at organised events.
too many shops selling them all year and too easy for silly kids and yobs to get hold off, I had to do 3 months training to get a Pyrotechnics licence when I was on the road.
