First time at Chameleons

We went to Chameleons last night, our first time at a club. We were very nervous but in no doubt that we were going to go and not bottle out at the last minute. We can understand why it takes people some time to finally get the nerve up to go; itâ€™s all the not knowing what to expect. We had made contact with people on this site a few weeks ago that help us with some advice by e-mail. We arranged to meet them at the club, we could have met at a pub first but we opted to meet at the club. We felt that we needed to walk through that door for the first time without any help from others. We got their 30 minutes before our friends so that we could just take a look at the place and chat with each other. The staff are great, pleasant helpful and busy, but they showed us the way to the locker room, told us about the club and anything we wanted to know.
Weâ€™d exchanged photos with our friends by e-mail so we knew who we were looking out for and as soon as they walked in we introduced ourselves to them. They had two friends with them that they had been to the club with before. We had a drink (a large in my case) to steady the nerves. We where quite surprised how relaxed we were and how pleasant the atmosphere was. Our friends showed us around the club a bit later and some how we all ended up playing. We went to the club with no expectations whatsoever, our deal was just to go and have a look and go with the flow. So we were surprised to find ourselves enjoying our friends company more than we had expected. So now we are swingers like many of you. We are still in shock I think! and wondering whatâ€™s next. We need to recover from last night and then decide if swinging is for us but judging by the smile on Rachelâ€™s face I think we will be going again soon.
The club was nice, warm and friendly not to big but big enough, lots of couples but not over packed. All in all I would say that they have got it just about right.

Glad it all went well for you!
It seems all you get to hear about are the 'horror stories' (in the Press anyhow! mad

) so it makes a change to get a positive story. Bit like flying really, you only hear about it when the buggers crash! wink

Wish we had a club a bit closer... nearest one is a couple of hours away, which makes it 'just out of reach' :cry:

Wahey, Paul and Rachel, sounds like a success story if ever I heard one!
Now all you need is the full story in lurid detail in the Swingers Story section, and life would be just about perfect.
And, to the couple that held your hand, and if I may be so bold as to suggest, other things as well, through your first experience, well done!
Chameleons has had a few good reviews on the site now. Might have to go and have a look ourselves, not done a club yet!

i am glad that you had a good time, i would still like to think i will go but would also probably like to meet up with some friends first (as friends nothing else).
i may just wait for a girlfriend to want to go and do it that way.

Well done Rachel
It's good to hear the success stories of people who have taken the plunge. If nothing else it shows what a good community we have built on here that helps people through their initial fears and trepidations.
Can't wait to read the story wink
