Its very interesting watching or listening to two people flirting.......
They can be giving off signals via body language....... the most common one for a woman is to touch or twist her hair in her fingers... thus drawing the man's eyes to her... a man is more likely to mirror the womans posture and stance.... e.g she bends her arm to the right... he will do the same... indicating a common harmony...
They can be chatting quite innocently but using code words or double entendres to one another...
They could be flirting via a medium like text or chatroom.... again watch the responses and if you're next to the person receiving the texts.... their breathing alters and their face colour changes..... heightened body temperature.....indicating excitement..
Me..... i'm a body language and carefully chosen words flirt......
Which are you??????
Or maybe you have another method of flirting altogether............lol

erm...ok...bugger...who've I been flirting with subconsciously in the chatroom? <eek>
I seem to find that I often use flirtation as a defence mechanism to hide an inner shyness.
Maybe it's because I need reassurance that I am accepted and maybe admired by the opposite sex to boost my own self esteem.
I'm often called a flirt by my partner, even though I am not actually aware that I am flirting, even whenm it comes to talking to the check-out girl at Sainsburys.
I'm definately a people watcher - fascinating what some folks will say or do.
What could start out with just words and/or looks is often punctuated with gentle touches; a hand laid softly on the forearm of the recipitent, removing a tiny piece of fluff from the jacket, a hand laid on the shoulder as one moves off. The pleasure received from these tiny things is usually evident on the faces of those playing the flirting game.
If engaging in flirtation I tend to use looks, flutter eye lashes (oldie but goodie still), a beaming smile.

Ooooo i love a good flirt!
Nothing like the rush you get from a nice long flirtacious conversation :P Especially naughty if the person your flirting with is ment to be 'forbidden fruit' hehe!
Flirtacious dancing is another favourite....
Im just an ol' flirt ;)

I am not much of a one for flirting, but I do occasionally pick up on and then respond to, the very subtle, almost indistinguishable body language flirting, especially facial expression, but it is only those tiny little flirty changes in the face that I enjoy. The more vigerous flirting that includes innuendo etc. I find all rather 'Terry Thomas' to the point of being ridiculous and embarasing....each to their own, but for me I simply don't do flirting in the sense that I think most folk are talking about.
You mention the "vigorous" flirting. There is actually a point where it gets too obvious and overdone, and at that point it isn't sexy or attractive anymore - it's just desparate. To me anyway.
I remember having a conversation about flirting with a girl a few years ago and saying that the playing with the hair thing is sexy, and she started to do it way too much and too obviously. At which point it was an instant turn-off. Even with being a fully-signed-up fan of hair (on the head, before you twist my meaning ;) ).
Fluttering the eyelids is probably most prone to being overdone, cos it's more obvious and takes special effort whereas you can tend to do the other physical things without thinking about them or realising you are. It is quite entertaining watching a couple's body language and working out whether and how much they're into each other. Much easier to see from outside than as one of them.
I think everyone flirts but some don't realise thier doing it.
Eye contact is also important... if flirting face to face....the eyes should remain fairly locked onto yours.... a conversation with someone whose eyes constantly slide away from you is a non-starter..... normally implies they can't wait to end the conversation !!!
Also if the flirting is exciting one or both parties.... the pupils dilate as the pleasure increases...
Blinking a lot.... unless your contact lenses are slipping.... usually means that the person talking to you is lying.....
So..... little flirtatious glances..... long lingering looks and long eye contact are all signs that the meeting is going well....
People watching is fascinating..... watch some of the people around you today.... what will their body language subconsciously reveal.......?????
