I had a "coffee meet" recently. Not the normal, "see if we click" sort of thing. Honestly. I was hoping to put someone's mind at ease that we aren't all two headed monster axe murderers.
So - in order to not come across too "predatory" - I made a concious effort to not give too much eye contact, turned myself to give a half profile presentation and stopped myself coming into physical contact. You know - the hand on the arm while talking, in the small of the back while allowing her to go through a doorway sort of thing.
You of course need to know this was a particularly horny little blonde.

The whole idea about body language is that is must be subconscious... forced actions look horrendous and can... as dambuster has found out... give out entirely the wrong message...
The way we interract with eachother should be on a 'being yourself' level... not a 'how should i play this one' level.....

I'm always trying the smile and then flick my head back a few seconds later to see if they do too/were still looking. Far too rarely is anyone ever looking though.
