took a viewing of 'ask the family' yesterday with Dick n Dom. I have to say I was impressed, so too with the saturday 'bungalow' show. But my question is this..........
Will we ever see anything as good as Tiswas ever again?

There might be the odd impromptu appearence from the Phantom Flann Flinger, and Lenny Henry might learn how to say OooooooooooKkkkkkkkkkk again. But it is Sally James I miss, she was well horny!!
Nah Dick and Dom are rather funny!!
Anybody seen the babyrace its fucking class!! lol
No, here in The Midlands we had Tiswas right from the start in 1974.
The best period was actually about '76-'79.
Nothing will ever touch it for me.
IMNSHO, no, because TISWAS was a good programme full stop. But more than that it had no serious precedent - can anyone think of the presenters or even title of any Saturday am show before TISWAS? - and everybody can remember with a nostalgic tint the first time for anything ( I can remember a lot more detail from losing my virginity 9 years ago then I can from sex last week! ).
What I will say is SMTV live with Ant, Dec and Cat came the closest in capturing the spirit of TISWAS, it was in fact IMHO a late 90's TISWAS, the same chaotic, "let's do it 'cos it's fun" attitude, just a lot more flash and slick for a vastly more media savvy audience.

If you remember Swap shop you must have been one of the unfortunates. I remember my mate whos mum wouldnt let him watch Tiswas, she forced him to watch Swap Shop, so he obviously cottoned on to getting out early and coming round to my house. He blames this fact on his life of being a serial liar now, a good catholic boy who has serial affairs, cant be truthful to his wife about where he is, what he is doing. And his mam thought she was doing him a favour lol
haha my mum used to say i laughed like beavis from beavis and buthead!! confused
Not the best laugh to have really  Suppose it could have been worse could have looked like him too :?

I think Swap shop started before Tiswas, coz I'm sure I remember watching it in 75 - 76. Tiswas started a little later on YTV. Things chang though, I used to be up in time for the pop man back in 75, all those litre bottles of Bar American Creme Soda! And the summer of 76 was a scorcher!!

What was that one with Gaz Top( confused ) with the "spaceship" and the snotter afflicted allien Gilbert - I only wonder 'cos a manager at the Micky D's I worked at some years later was called Gilbert due to his passing resemblance to said lump of latex and ( his later diagnosed pneumonia ). If you're on this site Adam, hope you're doing well - sorry for pissing on your car at the crimbo party redface
