Do you remember when the TV used to switch off at night at about midnight? Do you remember black and white TV, a time before satallite, cable. Before channel 5 or 4. When you needed a special ariel to receive BBC2?
What was your favourite program then?
I vote for Noggin the NOg
The Aeronauts
Marine Boy
The Crusader
I hated Robinson Crusoe
Hectors House.... worship
The Persuaders
Double deckers
I watched these as an adult a couple of years back and they stunk the place out :-(
Star Soccer
with Hugh Johns for any of the Midlands folk on here
It's a knockout
Some of us haven't forgotten what it was like before BBC2 even started up.....
Picture Book anyone? lol

I had forgotten that. Brilliant in the early days. Stuart Hall. Who could forget games like
4 attractive women each with two jellies all in a minicooper. Yes I know the last bit is gobbledygook but I know what I mean
Oh happy days
Crackerjack
The Tomorrow people
The Original Jackanory
Animal Magic
Magic Roundabout
Captain Pugwash

Star Soccer, seemed to remember Wolves on every week!
and Arsenal were on every time they were in the Midlands.
I used to love visiting my grans because she got LWT with 'The Big Match' and Brian Moore in the studio (seemed really glamorous at the time)and if they happened to be showing Chelsea that week I was in heaven!

Didn't they show the clip of 'the Doug' praying on the pitch in the titles? or did I just dream it?

cool aaw man, now I feel all gooey inside lol
Kids don't have programmes like we used to have any more, i remember going to school the following day to talk about the programme we had watched the previous night......
I also read that they are talking about cutting the budget for children's programmes as the people that say, say that they aren't making enough money and children aren't watching them, I say make some decent one's and children will be able to chat about the programmes they watched as kids just as we are now!!!!
I loved Mary, Mungo and Midge, Bill and Benn,Scooby Doo ( before Scrappy),Tiswas,Space 1999 on a sunday afternoon, remember watching World of sport and Grandstand with my Dad, The Clangers, and so many more................
For a real trip down memory lane, try this...

Probably one for the ladies but does anyone remember WHITE HORSES? It used to blight my holiday mornings.
We were talking about this yesterday:

I'm Dill the Dog,
I'm a Dog called Dill,
though my tail I'd love to get,
I've never caught it yet.
