funny noises

being a newbie here, im wading my way thru as many varied topics as possible.
Now I dont quite know how to explain this but here goes............i keep hearing noises like im receiving an IM or something. Am i doing something wrong?
Patiently waits for a reply before the guys in white coats come and get me. redface

Serious answer, no idea......I don't have the volume on so I can only guess, is there a Private Message flashing on the right hand side in the User Menu? that might make an incoming mail noise?

Is this generally or only when you're using the computer...?

OK, I've just turned my volume on because I was curious if I had 'noises' and I do have little 'clicks' each time I hit 'submit' or click on a link, coming from my speakers - perhaps it's the sex police :shock:

Takes me ages to type a message and when i post it, there are about 3 more messages.
Its def from the computer {i think}

sorry Chris, it all started by me asking why i could hear funny noises online. Wasnt chatting on at the time and im useless at MSN. I may only be 5ft tall but I cause mayhem wherever i go :embarrased2:
