wow i wish it only cost £30 or even £45 a month to heat my 4 bedroom house ........... i am on a meter and put in at least £30 a week at the moment but the heating is on all the time in the really cold weather. and the only other gas aplience is the hob. i put in about the same in the electric meter. am only on sick pay with tax credits and most of my cash is on the fuel at the moment am really struggling but got to keep myself and kid warm. so i make do. no leaks as the meter is new has been checked.
u n a kid??? 4 bedrooms??? dont heat the rooms u dont need or stick in the thermostatic rad valves ......cheap casserole meat cuts ...use the oven warmth....
our last gas bill was £81 the quarter...now we put the heating on...so we`ll see in feb..
would love who ever pays £50 a q`s leccy bill....we do about £10 a week on the key...
the only rooms upstairs that are heated are the kids room and the bathroom am using the rising heat from downstairs to heat the upstairs and those rads are on thermostats. as for the cooking advice thans i cope well there as i am a cook. perhaps its the loft and wall insulation but as i dont have the cash to upgrade then it will be another thing that will wait.
i didnt post my bills status to complain i was just stating that their bill that they thought was dear was in fact very reasonable and nothing to be concerned over as others use more fuel. and i was giving my bill as an example.
