Now look, my favourite, favourite, episode was A DS Nine episode which combined an original Star Trek "The trouble with Triffles" wtih DS9 modernity.
How they did it I don't know but it was wonderful.
Two quotes:
They're Klingons? Mr Worf said "A genetic abnormaility we don't talk about itt"
The Chief Engineer said "That's Kirk, I've seen his picture". "So why is he wearing a Lieutenant's badges?"
I have a very good tolerancel level for bad SciFi

The Great Man .....was ahead of his time thats for sure especially with racial issue's of the time......i would say he was abit of an idealist!!
So as anyone discovered Dilithium Crystals yet?

I agree - in fact, Gene Roddenberry was a visionary genius, it's such a shame that The Next Generationwas more concerned with political correctness than with being bloody good Sci-Fi

I liked the NG, and as for being PC, it's true but I'd imagine the original was just a voicepiece for its era as well. It's hard to imagine the original is over 40 years old! And looking at it now, William Shatner is such a crap actor, but it's great to watch!
was surfing a film site last weekend and there is talk of another star trek film. this one will be based before the first star trek but after this serious of enterprise. with a new crew
cool i hope that happens. it will have to be good if its going to compete with the other good scifi out now. enterprise didnt really grab me as much as the other treks. i think stargate has stole its thunder.
i really like "atlantis" and "sg1".
Have you noticed how many actors "cross over" the various series'
Most of SG1 have been in Andromeda (except the McGyver bloke) and i've defo seen Deanna Troy playing a Russian in Stargate......
Perhaps there just used to jumping about the universe(es)
yeah it happens a lot. tucker from enterprise turns up as a wraith in atlantis, and obrien from next generation turns up in atlantis to. ben browder and claudia black moved from farscape to sg1. lexa doig was in andromeda and now in sg1. im sure i could be a real geek and carry this list
well get this the guy that plays worf in tng has appared in all but entrprise of the star trek shows.

Claudia Black & Lexa Doig - I knew there was some reason to watch these shows....pmsl.....
The original Trek 2sort of" carries on in these shows and
I haven't seen any of them (so I can't be that geeky (he says)) but it's nice to see the idea still alive.

Yeah, but DS9and Voyager were better - they both showed that Starfleet was far from being the perfect society that TNG portrayed, particularly when Janeway got nasty....... :eeek:
oh yeah claudia black is great and always gets a strong leather clad tough girl role. tremendous!

Crikey, web shows of Kirk et al with different bodies. Weird or what? Or maybe it's just a space-time warp that's causing the distortion?

Hence my reluctance to view.... biggrin
well i thought they were giving the star trek format a break for ten years or so but as the chap said earlier.....rumours of a movie.
oh yeah buffy was good. i like joss whedon's stuff
Angel had a better story, and Charisma Carpenter........
Boreanaz is actually good in "Bones" as well - still as hard and looking immaculate...lmao
i liked cordy when she was a bitch. thats why i fancied faith to. that lass that turned blue and was with wes was cool to. yeah angel was more grown up and the storyline not rushed as much as buffy.
Did you know Wes and Willow are actually married .....
Nice finish by Sgt. and st on the other thread btw.....lol
nope i didnt know that mate. ive learnt something today then. just remembered another crossover.....spike has moved to smallville. lol
Yeah, professor dude - obviously his singing career didn't work out too well..lmao
He maintained a fine Brit accent though in Buffy......top bloke

thanx easyease... guess he's like another Q then?

He was discoverd and mentored by the big tall guy they called the traveler. I dont remember what happened exactly but they went looking for the traveler when Wes was in some kind of trouble.
NOt realy botherd about TNG being politicaly correct its still great Sci fi to me biggrin Realy liked the way the first and last ever episodes interacted and the messaage behind those episodes which is believe that you have the potential to be more than you are.
