Getting into the chatroom.... LOL

No ! Not having a problem accessing the chatroom.... so calm down Mods :lol2: and put that link to chat/ back in it's box....
Completely different thing.... getting into it again... as in " I am enjoying this" , you know... relax Mods.... honest,,,, just kidding with the title there!
When I started out on SH, I joined and was immediately sucked into the weird world of the chatroom. You know, where people ask someone 300 miles away to put the kettle on as they fancy a brew, and then asks for biscuits too. loon

And I loved it, for months, then it got a bit, erm, difficult and I escaped into the forum. Only to get my breath back, but I haven't left. ( as you may have noticed rolleyes

)
Anyways, recently, someone dragged me back in there. (FB as it happens...but i wont tell you her name) And I have found myself popping back. I still hate the numpties who post " anyone in xxx for a pvt chat" over and over.... but hey ho, we have similar here.
The thing that struck me, was what a different side to SH the chatroom is. There are still the regulars who can jump in and out of boxes at a whim, there is still the same level of bitter hostile friendship...( you have to be there to know.. but BiPaula entering the room is a classic... as is David48) . There are "newbies" who are really good at witty retorts... and the Ops ( thems are Mods in chat-speak... really) are lovely.... just mention to them you have come from the Forum and want to check out how the other half of SH live ... they'll help you find your feet... lol

So, if you haven't used the chatroom, go and give it a go.... but FFS make sure you read the rules... ( you think bluexxx and Sarge are harsh... you should see what happens when you mistakenly hit CAPS-- LOCK :shock: )
Just make sure you roll out your ball of wool so you can find your way out of the chatroom and back here.... because it's one heck of a strange place that could draw you in as much as here

I loved the chatroom, used to use mIRC a lot and started to become regular in there then found the forum and now whenever i go in there I get sarcastic "are you lost!" comments.
And to be honest it puts me off, takes away the joy of going in there so I don't anymore.
Have even deleted mIRC.
Sorry but I find those sort of comments rude and undermining.

I don't think people are aware of how much of an independent little community that is going on in the chatroom. Many people consider it 'home' as do many of posters here on the forum. Not all people mix between the two places as some don't like the speed of the chatroom. Not all of the chatters understand how the forum seems to work.
Both places take some getting used to and newbies need to learn how to join in with the chat, just as they would when posting here in the cafe.
I feel bloody lucky that I can go between both places and have a giggle when I want it :smug:

Dawn how much i agree you don't know but for me it just wasn't like that, I knew a number of regulars in there and from in here but the jokes and saracasm about being a forumite, being lost, having a bad day etc just wasn't fair.
I wouldn't dream of ridiculing a chatter for venturing on here.

We love to see the people from the forums in the chatroom as it helps to forge the relationship between the two...
Yep the chatroom can be fast and furious (Blame the women for that... yak yak yak yak :lol: ) and trust me even the OP's have trouble keeping up sometimes blink

but it's worth venturing into the unknown just for the fun that we have.... If you haven't seen "Castrate along with Equi" then you haven't lived
