Getting Started

Hi,
I have been reading all the information on this site, and I have to say this is one of the best resources on the internet. There's so much information on the site and in the forums, that it's hard to take it all in.
I'm not sure if you can remember when you were just a newbie. It's hard to know where to start. I am thinking that, as I live in London, a trip to somewhere like Rio's would be a good start. What do you think? How intimidating is this for a first timer?
Is there a "first time" guide online anywhere?

Hi Darren

We're relative newbies been here a few weeks and have been very welcomed here, nice first post btw, you'll do fine. We had a mentor to start with who proved very useful for things you don't want to ask on the open forum (thx Shaz and Tony).
Also read back the old forum posts, search on there to view past topics rather than asking before researching. There is loads of info there...eveything you have wanted to ask!.
