I really like medeval history which is how I came to know the dates. (yes, I know the last two were 19thC but EVERYONE knows them).

So can we really trust that 1964 in your user name?? Mind you, years of birth and ages seems to be a perennial memory problem for all girlies!

Jags, I know 1320, we talked about it before, but these English have never been able to learn a well taught lesson, and I have better things to do on my Saturday night than try and educate the un-educatable.
Kit says, she knew the answer too, but only because I dragged her there (not at the time I hasten to add) and made her stand there while I explained the whole history of Scotland too her - in November at 8 months pregnant! lol

Hence the small amount of vitriol contained in her answer.

PS the New Yorkers celebrate the event with Tartan Day - I went along this year to find ME and 6,000 men in kilts walking up 6th Avenue (got the pics too) in the drizzle. Now, I want a man in a black leather kilt.... got one in mind but that's another story!!

Did I say that was the year of my birth - perhaps it's the two ages at either end of my preferences??
I can remember my date of birth, along with my childrens', perfectly well - probably because they seem important to me. Dates of battles have less relevance to me. Men are different when it comes to birthdays, I find. Oddly, the other day, I remembered the car registration plate that my first serious b/f had... it was a 'Y' reg and brand new at that time!
Memory is a peculiar thing, as I'm finding whilst helping a relative get help for a progressive condition - and it's such an important part of who we are.

Actually, there is another reason for my number and as far as I am aware, only one other member of the site knows why - any guesses?
