Hi everyone,
Out of sheer curiousity we Googled our profile name and were astounded to find SH adverts and forum topics come up in the search results.
We do not have pics on our advert, so we found an advert with pics, logged out of SH and googled the profile name only to find the couples advert in the Google search results, and when we clicked on it we were astounded to find the advert open up and with the photos fully visible.
When SH states that the site is 100% safe, secure and confidential, how can they allow this to happen.
I can assure you that we were not logged into the site at the time and maybe you could try this for yourselves.
If you have pics on your adverts, now you know that they are visible to everyone.
We also found links to sites where we have had profiles in the past, why on earth are the sites allowing this ??
Finally i DO HOPE !!! that this post is left to run and not conviently removed and it would be great if the site owners rectified this problem, pleaseeeeeee,

i dont think any site is totaly secure and if you dont want your photos on public display add them to your private album and not on your adverts.

Well i have just searched my name Lilmiss and gone through 10 pages and it didn't bring anything up for me and ive been a member of this site for over 3 yrs now.
I also tried 2 other names i use at dif places and it didn't bring anything linked to me from those either.

Thats always been the way, certain parts of the sites are blocked from Google and non members, this has never been the case with either the forum or the ads.

All photo's are approved, those classified as 'adult' are not shown to non full members, go check a few more ads and you will see that these photo's will not show when you are logged out, there was a time when all photos were visible.

The private ones are private and I'm not aware of anyone ever claiming that the others were not available, when people visit this site the first thing that a lot look at are the photos' so I'm surprised that anyone would think that they are all hidden.

I have no issues with people raising concerns, but I don't believe that theres anything new going on here.

I've just found an advert with 40 pictures on it, then logged out. I googled the profile name and it gave me some of their posts, but wouldn't let me look at the profile. Logged back in and I could see all their pictures.

Now if you want to try something even scarier, put your postcode into Google. We found out our neighbour runs (on the side) an introduction agency for Filipino nurses to meet British men

Very scary indeed!! This is what it clearly states on the home page if you want to sign up... " We guarantee that your membership is 100% discreet and confidential!"
We googled our name and if you are not logged in it does not show any pics but....If we click on one of our adverts it comes up with the advert and our pics!
Now we feel a tad put off here, as it does say this site is 100% secure! :shock: We know that somebody would have to know our user name on here, but the thought of just being able to Google someones name and then view their adverts, and then access people pics, is not on if you state to be 100% secure?
We have visible pics on our adverts as it generates more interest, rather than just people reading our ads. We will certainly have a re think over this!
Truthfully there are several layers of privacy here. First I doubt anyone uses their real names on adverts, if you do then DOH!!!. Then only pics you are happy to have public go on adverts - if members are interested to see more they could check your profile, but only members acn do this as I understand it.
Even pics that do finish up visible are very low res.
I'd be more worried about someone watching comings & goings from my front door!!!!!

So what if this has been done before. There will be new members who do not realise that their ads can be seen by anyone and as no site is 100% secure despite the claims it will encourage people to take extra care to protect them selves.

We did ours, no pictures, but 5 results came up, all us for either this or another forum.

This guys is all part of SEO (Search Engine Optimisation), every website has to be Search Engine Optimisied for marketing purposes. Even if websites are not optimised then Google Bots will automatically and randomly crawl sites for information, there is nothing a site owner can do.
But if some ads or photos as some of you guys are claiming are showing up in Google then there is nothing that really can be done by the site admin.

Actually, LizBob, I take back my original post... you are right!, I've just googled Jaymar with SwingingHeaven and it brought up a post that I was involved in about hairy men! I've got two entries both from February last year...:shock:
I still think people on the outside wouldn't know your profile name in the first place to check you out, but I maybe the forum should have more security attached should it not?
Also if you are logged into sh as a member you may well be calling up details from the computers ram and getting more than would a non member. Try it before logging into sh, or in a net cafe. You'll still get something.
Anyway is there anything to be worried about? If you haven't provided information which could be accessed, there is nothing for anyone to find out about you.
