Hi guys and dolls
I am aware some of you don't agree with the grand national and would never bet
But a friend of mine asked me to help her pick a horse I haven't a clue what to look for anybody have a idea what I can pick and what I should look for?
Cheers
I don't know anything about horse racing so ignore the following if you like. But I would look at the horse's recent history. This season ideally, over the same kind of course. Have they been consistent - doesn't matter so much if they are first - so long as they are consistantly in the top few. Also if they have had treatment for an injury in the last couple of years I would ignore them - some of theose jumps are far too big to go over safely.
Failing that, use my method - pick 2 with related names. Like Black Sword and Sword Master. That kind of thing. Frankly it's such a wierd race it might be just as good a method.
Thanks foxy
I don't know the first thing either I have a knowledge of horses but not of racing I think I might do ip dip do lol
My mum always picks a name she likes, backs it each way and usually wins or gets placed.
I use my scientifically proven method (when I say that I mean it's worked for me before :lol2: )
Firstly never bet on favourites.
Look at the strip the jockey will be wearing and list the ones with the most purple on them.
Then pick the 2 names you like the most.
Place one bet on the nose and one bet each way.
This doesn't always work on the national, but whenever I've been to the races over the course of a day I've always come home with more money than I've put down smile
Alternatively - find someone Irish who looks like they know what they are talking about (watch them getting their money out to bet - it it's big wads of £50's that's a good sign) and ask them for a tip :)
 This'll do for me! :giggle:

Hey don't go telling everyone Nola, it's my secret lol :giggle:
Just like my method - pick either the colours/top or the horse's name that I like the most and back it. Doesn't always work, but I have won several times. lol
Don't pick any of the horses that are going to be killed or lamed in this years race
hi
as i work for a bookies my best advice is put all the names down on pieces of paper put them in a hat a pick one xxxxxxxxxx
there are millions of bookmakers on the planet if it was really easy i would be unem
employed lol
enjoy xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
I've considered for some time that "Chicago Grey" was a natural for the grand national; he's in to run this year, and although the fancy prices have all gone he still stands out for me.
Running in the tomorrow (today!)
