HI Everyone,
I've read a few posts about reporters trying to infiltrrate the ranks of SH (that sounds dirty), and programs on telly etc
I was just wondering who else had spotted this today, and what your thoughts are about the way this is entering the 'public domain'? Who has been there? What's it like? Do you think things will get watered down once this becomes more mainstream?
no, im not a reporter, but i read alot, hence pick up terms like 'public domain'! oh my brain is fried from the weekend...........................
this is the link to the article i saw
I wouldn't know, but I'd guess someone's done their research...

sleazy dives with drinks in plastic tumblers, where couples are plagued by that habitual irritant of the swingers' scene - the single bloke

That's what I thought Roger - sounds like the reporter is into the scene to me - or at least sympathetic - which makes a pleasant change!
thank god for the guardian eh? just remembered why i buy it, and not the bluddy NOTW! :lol2:
about time there was a decent, properly researched, objective article on the whole thing! nice one!
particularly liked this line . . . .
Other Liberation franchises are likely to be established near Leeds,

woo hoo! :bounce: bluddy hope so!
and brownbread, the more decent publicity like that the better! maybe people will come here with a more sensible attitude. ;)

Yup, ,me too! I may even manage a visit!
Interesting article, but I wonder how long it will be before somewhere like that opens up in my area. I haven't been to a swinging club yet (no money at the moment) but from what I hear, the local clubs are a bit sleazy. At the NE Munch people were talking about an evening at a local club where there were 12 single males & one couple.... who left fairly quickly!! As a single male this does not fill me with confidence. sad
Frankly, every description I've read of a swinging club here makes them sound to me like hell on earth.
we went to partners last weekend and was told it was the quietest night they,d had for a long time, there was 12 couples and about 10 single guy,s ...we were the only couple that were into single guy,s , but i must add that all the guy,s ( bar one) was totally respectful we was expecting to be mithered and was worried we would,nt cope but it was,nt like the one guy took no for an answer. But we did get to choose 2 , anda good night was had by all. biggrin lol

Just reads like more of the same to me.
Lazy , space filling journalism.

wewantu2!
i've been to a club 3 times. the first coupla visits i absolutely was the proverbial shiting dog! spent all night in the jacuzzi! rolleyes
the third time kinda managed to play with my partner that night, but soon as approached by another coupe it all kinda went pear shaped! redface literally! ;) fortunately everybody backed off after one look at my face! surprisedops:
partners is bloody good! think a trip there in a week or 2 would be a good idea. they're strange places, but damn good once you get past the nerves! and i thought it was pretty relaxed. biggrin
silk/g have to say of all the recent articles i've seen . . it weren't such a bad one. i've seen worse! ;)
<<< ponders on a partners "lets meet" post next weekend. . . >>>

Something like that tried to open in our area and the locals went beserk.
There isn't enough places to go in the North East, that's why I now stick to private parties
I've said it before on here and I still think it's the case.
Sensational stories of "swinging" are fast becoming old hat! More and more people are indulging or at least are keen to try and the shock factor has long gone. I dont think it will be all that long before OUR pastime cause's as little a storm in the community as divorce and single parents used too not all that long ago!!!
People are (hopefully) starting to see life for what it is,
For living,
and as long as we are all consenting adults.......................
Party on wink
It's just a thought, but if we declared Swinging Heaven areligious group, then we would have quite a bit protection under the Laws of the UK.
Your not allowed to persecute, bait, complain about Religious Minorities etc, etc.
I wonder if Mark (may the sun always shine upon him) would be willing to be High Priest,
The various male Moderators could be lesser priests and the female Moderators could become the equivilent of Vestal Virgins (even if slightly removed from the former name status).
BlueXXX could become the Senior Disciplinarian for transgressors etc.
When you next receive your Census Forms you could fill in the 'Religion Box' with 'The Temple of Swinging Heaven'
If thousands of people all did it, we might outrank the Jedi Knights, who placed very highly in the last Census.
As I said above it's just a thought. lol.
