I started a thread (http://www.swingingheaven.co.uk/swingers-forum/viewpost/675319.html#675319) which was meant to get some advice on clubs in Germany for UK swingers heading that way this year, what with it being World Cup and all that...
Now it's locked, with s URL as some kind of reason as to why it is blocked. OK, I looked at that other thread that the URL pointed to, and it's 7 pages long, with only one post out of 7 pages that has any information about Germany in it. I don't get it. Is that one post the reason why the thread was locked? A post that goes back to May 2005, = 7 months ago. Hardly like repeating a recently discussed topic is it?
OK so the thread didn't do very well, but that's besides the point. I don't understand the reason why it was "locked". confused Locking is one of the severest punishments for wrongdoing that a moderator can dish out, and I am somewhat bemused as to why I deserve this punishment to an honestly meant-to-be informative thread. Sgt B, can you let me know where I went wrong on this matter?

I thought about that, but without sounding too pompous, if my thread can go "wrong" then other people could just as easilly go wrong. I think it would be for everyone's benefit to learn from my mistake here.
Taken from the Help section.....
Why has my post/thread been locked/deleted!?
Firstly, please carefully read our Forum Posting Guidelines to gain some insight as to why this may have happened. Also, refamiliarize yourself with the forum registration terms you agreed to, paying particular attention to this section: You agree that the webmaster, administrator and moderators of this forum have the right to remove, edit, move or close any topic at any time should they see fit.
Usually when a post is locked the reason is given by the Moderator who locked it. If your post/thread was deleted then it was most likely considered so pointless or such an infringement of the AUP that it should no longer remain on the site.
The possible reasons your post/thread was locked or deleted are too numerous to mention here, so we simply ask you to accept the decision and move on. What we certainly do NOT want to see is yet another post asking why your previous one was locked or deleted.
If you think your rights as a forum member have been abused and you want to have the matter looked into, please see our abuse page and send us as much information as possible, including your forum username and the link to, or content of, the post in question.

It's there for all to see rolleyes

Does this work?
I've sent 2 e-mails to the "contact@" e-mail address for this site on other matters of high relevance, one has been waiting for 4 weeks without a reply, and the other one has been unanswered for 6 weeks. Would anyone reply to the "abuse" submission? Please gie me grounds for confidence that the matter will be looked at.
And how will me being told of the reason stop anyone else from making the same mistake?? (I'm still at a loss as to why this thread was "so pointless...etc" )
from my understanding partyman.... any thread asking for advice outside of the u.k would be locked... that is why the "travellers solutions" sticky at the top was introduced....
I just remember a whole load of threads starting on various different holiday destinations a while back and it was considered the easiest place as a resource to keep everything... if you ask it in there i am sure someone will answer it mate....

Thanks Fabio, I take your point.
That said, this is World Cup year, and more people from here will be heading to Germany than (say) North Wales. Yet a thread about swinging facilities in North Wales would be considered "relevant", whereas Germany isn't.
If relevance is measures by people voting with their feet, cars, RyanAir etc, then surely in the context of this year, that means that Germany as a single destination is a valid topic. Next year the circumstances may be different, and the relevance may diminish, but surely these things get taken on their own merits, don't they?
But aren't they going to Germany to watch the football? rolleyes
Men + beer + football = no sex :P

Football will occupy 2 or 3 hours per week as that's how often England will be playing. So, just like for skiers there is the "apres ski" swingers watching fooball in a German city may well wonder what he / they can do for "apres footie" especially in a country know for its adult attitudes towards adult activities.
Alternative equation :
Swingers + Time on their hands = opportunities for sexual activities

It is quite simple really. I locked the post but left you a link to where your post should have been. I thought it was self-explanatory, and if you read the first paragraph of Jas' post it explains why we opted to have those questions asked in that thread.

Hi
If you are travelling abroad and are looking for information or reviews on areas, please post on this thread stating where you are going and ask people to pm you with any information they may think will be useful.
Saves cluttering everywhere up and the place looking like a travel agents.

I am now going to lock this thread too, seeing as your question has been answered, but if you are not happy with that please PM me. confused :? :?
