Has anyone else had enough of Christmas yet?
It wouldn't be so bad if it didn't start in August.
I guess if you like to drink yourself silly and eat a large tin of sweets/chocolates every night you think it is good it starts 4 months before the day.
Oh, and does anyone have an item that goes backwards and forwards every year(an unwanted present)?
IWe have a plastic chicken(ala Spitting Image) that is given to various people and has swapped hands numerous times.
Alright I know,taxi for me.

Nah, just about to get started for me.
Ive no really been paying much attention to xmas till laetly, we're putting the decoratins up at the weekdn so that should be fun. Mr naghty usually buggers off and leaves me to do it cause he acnt do the tree properly. :rascal:
I,m not fed up with xmas yet, we,re just about to start putting up our decorations, and we,ve got 3 parties to go to in the nexy few weeks i,m starting to get excited lol   passionkiss drinkies :bounce: :bounce:
So tell me how long after christmas do you leave yours up(the tree)?
Do you make the outside of your house look like a seaside elumination experience?
Do you argue over whetehr to have a star or a fairy at the top of your tree?
Have anything unusal instead of boring old turkey which ends up making meals well into February.
Can't wait until my turkey ice cream lol.
I personally love Christmas; I love the cold air and the blue sky, I love the atmosphere on late night shopping nights with vendors selling roasted chestnuts, I love seeing friends and family who I haven't seen for ages, I love buying presents and imagining how happy they'll be when they open them (hate wrapping them though), I love chatting to my Dad on Christmas Day morning because he lives abroad and I don't see him often. I love seeing my brother's and sister's kids opening their presents (get a bit disappointed when they're fighting over them two minutes later), I love everyone sitting round a dinner table and eating lamb and turkey while drinking wine and then suddenly noticing that you're a bit drunk, I love it when we all go for a walk on the beach in the afternoon with the dogs and everyone else is there too so even though it's a cold and icy day the beaches are really busy, I love coming home and sitting in front of an open fire getting quietly drunk. Christmas to me is one of the happiest times of the year.
Turkey Ice Cream
We have a rasta man on top of our tree cause we got fed up of arguing over what was to go up there. It will have to be an angel this year though cause mr naughtys family are coming for dinner here this
We dont out up to many decorations on the outside but my mothers house looks like blackpool iluminations.
Ane we leave the tree up till we recovered from New Year then take it down
The turkey ice cream bit was a joke, just making the fact that people make everything possible like sandwiches, stew, salad etc and turkey surprise.
The week after xmas everything gets put away, by that time we,re fed up with the tree etc...then we look forward to our summer hols lol
It started around the hsops here in July and now the shops are staring to get ready for easter
TS
U don't know what me mom's new idea of a xmas meal is. We've not had turkey for years (as most of the family don't like it ..yeah I know we're abit unusual) and have settled for having a good roast chicken for xmas instead. This year, they want to try a chinese meal instead ! No prizes for guessing who'll b doing the cooking as nobody in the family cooks chinese food. My objections fell on deaf ears. Still trying to figure out what to cook ... any suggestions ? If it's something new, I've gotta start practicing. One thing I do know for sure is that we'll be startiing with roast duck pancakes (ready made ones obviously) ...MMMMmmmm .... lovely lol
I mentioned this before once several hundred posts ago but...
I once kept my Christmas tree up 'til Easter!True! rolleyes
amylou, love your bit about the vendors selling roasted chestnuts - sounds like an image from a Dickens Christmas - I agree - I love it.
OK own up who can't wait to get their gobs round the dreaded Brussel Sprouts?
I hate these things and always wonder where they come from?
Do they have a large Brussel sprout mountain somehwere or do they breed outside christmas season?
Alos I would suggest anyone thinking if getting nuts to buy ready shelled ones as it does save in the long run as half of the shelled ones are usually bad and what is it with those ruddy Almond ones which are a bugger to crack.
lol We've had a bit of tinsel round the clock all year. We forgot all about it until a few months ago when somebody said "oh you still have tinsel up" so i decided just to keep it there, lol
Anyone having a goose this Christmas?
