Epilation eh?
hmmmm... >thinks<
lp
I have an epilator and its great as long as you remember to keep the skin taut (is that the correct spelling???) it doesn't hurt.
Waxing is great also esp. if you are quite hairy as it keeps hair away for up to 6 weeks (4 for me).
Shaving is naff, you get too many ingrowing hairs which flippin 'nack!!!
SOOOO......
Going back to the original Topic Please!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Lasar hair Removal.....
I'm thinking of having this done, Its expensive so i would like to know out of the 637,040 members on this site if anyone has any experience of it, or is it just a gimic??
Has anyone had this done, or knows anyone that has had this done. If so:
Does it work?
Does it hurt?
Is it worth it?
I realise the Mods think that all hair removal talk should be in the same thread, however that is like saying footbal and netball are the same because they are both team sports and use a ball!
MILaw had it done about 15 years ago on her legs and face.
For her legs she used to go to the local beauty college and had it done at rock bottom prices. It didn't hurt and now she has only a couple of stray hairs which she plucks.
She went about 10 years ago to a salon for some removed on her face which she said was extrememly painful, it looked awful for about 2 days after and again has a couple of stray hairs (very fine) that she plucked. Also it was expensive but worth it.
A few years ago I bought one of them kits where you can do it yourself. It wasn't painful, just a tingly sensation. But they grew back. After about 6 months I gave up and binned the kit.
As for prices today, a member who no longer posts on here has looked into it and if I remember correctly is going to cost approx £2k to have her nether regions done.
Hope this helps
xxxx
Thanks Kaz,
Its £150 a session and they estimate 6 session which is why I'm so keen to get people true opinion of the treatment.
Thanks mod, that's why my long post about laser hair removal disappeared when I pressed submit :jagsatwork:
If you still want to know please pm me, otherwise I'll not bother typing it all out again - it took me bloody ages
I use one, I just can't remember what the make is off the top of my head. All I do know is it gets easier.
biggrin
Flukkkkkk Meeeee !!!
Well ladies - in my opinion - epilation is a bytch - but please read on.....
I bought the Philips Satinelle Soft (nice little gadget with a smaller head for the more delicate areas) I turned it on and OMG what a noise - so be forewarned and dont run at this point smile
My first step was the legs - it hurt too much hence i went on to the bikini line.... Actually, the legs were more painful. Now the use of one of these gadgets is not as expected - i thought a quick line would leave a bare line - NO !!! you have to do it more slowly and bare the pain so to speak - taking it in small, little, tiny squares.
The procedure took me one and a half hours rolleyes and i am still not finished (the landing strip is still there as i ran out of time before the kids got in) besides, i had stopped for a few ciggies and a coffee :evil2: But think future attempst will be easier and quicker - due mainly to technique.
As for the product, its a good little thing but for me personally, i dont think its quite strong enough - i am very course and have a leg line rather than a bikini line  Although, for the moment, i am going to persevere with this one and keep on top of it every few days for the moment - that way, i believe it will not seem so daunting.
YES - it is painful (the landing strip i think will be the most painful), i had a couple of pores that did bleed, but i get that with plucking my eyebrows and it does, and has, totally dissapeared without a mark. Straight afterwards, my mound looked like it had been slapped repeatedly for half an hour as it was that red, one hour later, and again there is not a blemish !!!
So all in all - Was it worth it?? - YES - I am very smooth, no nicks, no rash and no lumps or bumps. Also, it can only get better, less course and ultimately easier to do. biggrin
Even if the landing strip is the nightmare and unbearable - i will still epilate and then i only have to shave the strip !!!
Good luck and be BRAVE  evil
D xxx wink
I find the best way of getting rid of unwanted pubic hair is to gargle and spit.

Nice pain tho :rascal:
The longer you epilate the less frequently in the future it will be need as over time the hair becomes finer. For me it'sthe best form of hair removal, bar laser [but that didn't work totally for me because of my fair/fine hair.

Ermmm not yet  Although the buzzing did feel nice on the lower mound area
This form of treatment is not good for your overall health. And should not be done for reasons of vanity. As this form of treatment is relatively new scientists are still not sure of the overall effect of the body not performing it's natural function of producing hair. It could be harmful.
Sorry but time does not permit me to go on so if you need more then PM me.
Continue doing what you do and maybe get someone else to help. You might get to enjoy it !! wink

Well I have told you of my experiences in a previous post.
Yes it does "work", but its not permanent .( I have a full beard now ffs ! )
The "pain" i encountered was by that of a "high powered medical laser", costing millons of pounds.(for the machine/staff but was free to me on NHS) These health type clinics are only using cheap low power lasers .so the discomfort for you is likely going to be far less than I had. Try to think of the laser as a controlled burn, too much too soon or for too long will make your hair removal "permanent" along with your skin!
In my honest opinion I would say no.

I have never made a secret out of the fact I love my epilady. It really does bloody hurt when you first try it and there is no way of stopping the pain, just get on with small patches until you can cope with it. It took me almost two weeks of doing small areas and going over them every couple of days until I could actually do the bottom half of my legs!

   You aint kidding!!..... I had another go tonight and my eyes were watering!!.... Not tomention the fact that it was all red for about an hour and very sore
I haven't ventured too far down yet and not sure I will do  :lol2:
Well - i'm still with the epilator...... wink
The landing strip - i will admit gets shaved redface I tried it twice and the pain was intense, also those metal whirring things did not look healthy right next to inny bits - what would happen if the phone rang and i jumped??
I did do the legs but have gave up on that too - the reason being is that the pores went bumpy and did not leave the legs smooth, even after about my fifth attempt, thus i dont think my legs like it.

hi try this
a few of my lady friends use it and swear by it as it can go right in the labia
try body for real in google
was considering an epilady as im very hairy and shave every 2 days natural hair colour is near black and very thick, stuble aint a good look but afta reading this you have convinced me to carry on with wet shave cant stand pain and im allergic to wax   get smooth enough and using a exfoliating brush helps wuth the bumps and ingrown hairs cant even stand to pluck my eyebrows very often so im a bit bushy there
My mam was going to send me for lazer treatment as a teenager when the nhs said they would cover some of the cost but in the end it was still to expensive and results inconclusive
Oh what id give to have light fine hair biggrin

As Dawnie says, Keep at it - mine is getting easier, but i'm not sure if its because the pain is expected and my body does not go in to hot and cold sweats biggrin
It really is worth it, for the time length that you get out of it - no hedgehogs here within two days anymore !!! (well except for the strip but i hold my hands up - im a wimp with it)
I know from my first time - i kept looking at it and thinking ohhh nooo i cant do it again - i think as you get further down, choose a small area to do, do it, then leave it before your body goes in to shock, then do a bit more later .... But Dawnie is right - it is worth it !!!! wink
I found that the further down I went the more the epilator sort of shot out of control  Perhaps I need to be lying down so it doesn't have a such a steep runway :lol2:
I will keep trying because as much as I love the smooth finish I get with plucking, it takes up so much maintenance time confused
I've just read the whole 3 pages, and want to cry, the pain us poor girls go through. I won't go into detail about what I do, and I'm sorry but I've never tried Laser removal, but would be interested to know how it goes if you ever do. Just wanted to say, for all of the women suffering out there, I wish I lived in the Middle East or Turkey so I could grow my hair and not worry about it, they love it there, and think 'Western' women are crazy for shaving, plucking, waxing everything off!! mad
I guess they have a point, but does that mean we have another reason to blame men for something??? lol
Good luck girls with all your hair removal techniques, if I ever meet any of you, I'll be the hairy werewolf standing in the corner of the room!!!

i didnt realize there was sensitive stuff to use.
i meen how could i have known im a man, i couldnt exactly walked up to the girl behind the counter and said "is this ok to use on my bollocks" could i?

No idea... I wax!
I think waxing is probably more pain but over quicker... although I do still shave my legs and underarms cause I'm just not that brave!
I hate excess hair... it takes me about two weeks to pluck my eyebrows!
Let me know how it goes though... maybe it'll be a better option than waxing and I'll give it a try... or you can! :rascal:

I epilate and yes, it hurts like hell but I have a drink first - any excuse lol (those who know me won't be surprised lol)
I would never get it near my 'inny bits' (love it) :giggle: tho. I do struggle with my underarms, seems to hurt more than anywhere else. Must get it out again before next weekend.....talk about deforestation lol
