Oh dear.
I bought one about three weeks ago. I waited for my hair to be long enough, tentatively got it out and breathed in.
Now, everyone who knows me knows I have a pretty damn high pain threshold. I touched it to my leg, squealed "FUUUUUUUCK!" and put it back in the box.
A couple of days, a couple of paracetamol & a couple of glasses of wine later, I managed a couple of 2 inch ish patches. I then had to shave as I was going out. I waited for it to grow again, and managed a little more- without the drink this time as I knew what to expect.
Imagine how much you think it will hurt- then multiply by 10. I thik if you're expecting it, it makes it easier to bear.
Im now waiting to do attempt number three. Good luck Fee hun!
I'm still alive and still using my epilady, can't do my under arm though. Just way too painful
UPDATE!
I've just tried it out! :bounce:
On Lairdy first :giggle: He swore  a lot  but it was good fun lol
Then I did it on my leg :eeek: I've now got a nice, bright red patch going up my left leg and no-one said doing over your shin bone would be so fecking agony  Can't stand to do any more tonight. I'll work up to it in stages but it feels a bit like mowing the grass! lol I'm finding that if you sing really loud while doing it, you can almost trick yourself into thinking is not really happening!
I'm a little apprehensive about doing more intimate bits blink

Brilliant... which bit of him did you epilate?! :giggle:
Do a bit at a time... am sure it'll get easier! The first ever wax I had done was excruciating... it got better after time!

I've always epilated my bikini line but decided to go the whole hog. FFS it was taking forever, not as efficient as on other areas so had to go over and over the same area and a tad more painful than normal
So I gave up and had a hollywood waxing the other day, mmmm, nice'n'smooov!!!
Think I'll keep the epilator for under my arms and legs only and leave me other bits to the professionals lol

I'm surprised you don't use that technique for "interrogation" purposes....lol
biggrin Well i'm still epilating and still alive - i'm even doing the landing strip now lol :bounce: :bounce:
I originally bought a philips at around £40 (read back as i cant remember when lol) Its now flucked, although it did take a hammering - all was not lost though as i sent mr J for the rolls royce lol
I got a Braun one at £60 - yes its extortionate to pluck hairs out pmsl but it is fantastic, it epilates in strips and is faster - ohhhh and it also has a snazzy ice bag lol
The legs i still say are more painful than the mound - although the landing strip at the moment is indescribable pain redface but i know it will get better wink
I would advice shaving the strip if its too much, until u get used to epilating - it really does get better - i can't say enough about it - i really should find a job promoting epilators :giggle:
Dont epilate the day of playing, you can feel a little bruised if doing a full one and i still get red blotches for a good few hours - you will still be baby-smooth if you do it the day before wink
I would say for a first time - take it over days and keep persevering - once its all gone, it does not take all that time ever again and it is easier to keep up with it.
The pain does lessen with time - i swear it really does !!!!
Keep at it and you won't look back - I am a total convert and will never ever go back to the shaving again wink

Sounds unbearable... I'll stick with waxing! It's quick and someone else does it for you! lol

Excellent post and that is exactly how I started
I am finding some of my hairs growing back a little thinner and a bit fluffy in certain parts which is a bonus.
The redness does get better too, I can happily epilate before leaving to have fun.
The only bit of advice I can give you for doing all of your foo-foo, is don't catch the most important bit in the middle because that really does fLucking hurt :eeek:
How long does your hair have to be to epilate?
I used to have everything waxed, but couldn't bear to wait while the hair grew back long enough, so now I shave everything every day, well, practically every time I go in the shower!
That way I always have smooth legs, I really can't stand spikes ever!
I think the problem that some have with shaving is if you leave it a couple of days between shaving your fanjita, then that's when you get the bumps n red bits.
I think I'm probably one of the only ones that don't mind shaving, I always use baby oil and one of dens new gilette razors- he kills me as they're always blunt!
If you could epilate with stubble then I would probably give it a bash..........
Hair. What hair!!

Run Lairdy ..... :scared: :giggle:
Yes, the icebag numbs it a little - the problem with it is that the skin has to be totally dry though for epilation and after a bit, you do get damp with the icebag - so i'm using it more for cooling the strip afterwards lol
Maz, as long as there is a stubble it can be caught with the epilator - as you will know with waxing, once ripped out by the root, it does not all grow out at once, so personally, i just go over the nethers every week and its just a touch up in general catching the first re-growth and strays so to speak wink
Well, you've convinced me - have just ordered one online.
Have a horrible feeling it will all end in tears.
