after watching a programme on itv tonight @ 10 o'clock i was absolutely discusted!!!!!!!!!!!
What are these kids thinking recording slapping people, if for example someone slapped my dad he'd slap em back!!!! but he would probably be done for assult!!!.
This even went to the extreme of youngsters setting fire to someone asleep in a bus shelter.
Really what is this world coming to? gone are the days when kids used to play kirby, knock and run, lurkey????
Now they go around slapping people, setting fire to them.
If i ever caught my child doing this Boy!!!! the'd be in trouble. Now adays theres no respect and disapline!!!!
God i know i sound like a old woman, but personally im discusted with the youth of today!!
I read someting about this earlier on ... it's started from the Dirty Sanchez and that other programme.
I agree with you it's definitely assault and the video's they are making should be used as evidence!

I do agree that these kids are getting out of order, but why did someone feel that it should be shown on TV? Surely that just gets more doing the same things

Abhore violence but have an avatar with a gun pointing at a dog? I'm puzzled.
Anyway, on topic...
Discipline starts at home. If you say no to a child mean no and follow it through no matter how hard it is. Loads of kids are out until 12pm at night becasue their parents don't give a shit where they are as long as they are not ruing their social life. It's a sad and sorry state.
The people who have to pick this up at the moment are the police, who's hands seems a little tied with these matters due to lack of support from their adults, teachers who have children who regularly have children fall asleep or come to school without breackfast through lack of support at home.
You can only do so much to help. You can lead a horse to water but you can't make it drink.

pmsl i didnt think of my pic lol
i know kids stay out till daft oclock when i was a spog (not so many years ago) when home and away was on at 6 we had to be in our pj's in the break we had milk and bisq and when it was finished it was bed!! and it never killed me ive turned into a respectable young woman(i think) confused
Children learn a lot from example they are shown. It's like hitting a child to tell them off for hitting you. confused I was smacked across my bottom as a child and it did me no harm because my parents always explained what I had done wrong and why I was being punished. As I got older I could choose my punishment from 2/3 options (i.e. 10 smacks from dad or 5 smacks from mum, I always chose the 10 because mum is heavy handed! lol )
For some people it's too much effort to get their kids in, wash, get them ready for bed, read a story or watch their fave programme with them. Fss, some can't even be bothered to get them out of bed in the morning and feed them, why on earth would they be bothered to care where they are at night! :? mad
It is one of the things I feel very strongly about as some kids will go off the rails no matter what, but at least give them a good chance of turning out responsibly, mature, thinkers that contribute something to other peoples lives in a positive way.

I'm glad I'm not going to be around to see what kind of adults they develop into, 'cos I'll probably be banged up and writing my memoirs, or pushing up the daisies, 'cos if one of them did that to me I'd deck the little shit.
Anti-social adolescent youths and young people is not a topic I'm gonna get drawn into any further than this.
I didn't see the programme so don't know what particular age group is involved.
Oh for the days when the local beat bobby knew the troublemakers on his patch and administered a clip round the ear when it was deserved. Yeah, and if that's not PC for some people, tough shit innocent
Right, that's it.

I sense an excess of seriousness in this thread . Wee boys do stupid things , and they continue doing them until they do them to someone big and ugly enough to make them see their error. Then they quickly become slightly wiser boys . All the news hungry paps have done is attach a name to it .

It is a serious thing when a few people think it's ok to abuse people on a day to day basis constantly or isolated incidents like vindictively setting a drunken man on fire at a bus stop.
I do think it is a serious issue and one that shouldn't be made light of. Although on here it possibly is just a shed load of rants as I bet most of the parents on here are fab and really care. Not everyone does its a shame to say.

It is a very depressing world when you see kids doing things like that. It is however almost certainly true that that sort of behaviour is quite rare, although the media gives the impression it is more common than it actually is.
Its at times like these that I have to remind myself that there are other things that are a lot more cheerful. smile

here here personally i think its not just harmless fun, when children are having to be tought at home to scarred to go to the school that we all pay our taxes for!!!!!! because arseholes like them beat on them and record it on there phones!!
fair enough whats said on here will have no affect but i thought thats what a forum is for to have discussions?
I wondered if this was a wind up first or if someone had mistaken a joke show for reallity but it is now being talked about on Question Time!!!!!!
I have never seen the programme before but, in the words of the song (the Jam - going underground?) "the public want what the public get".
Of course it is wrong and while it is easy to say switch off the TV if you do not like something, there does appear to be a problem and maybe the broadcasters/media should be more responsible and operate a self censorship policy.

I missed the show, but saw the news item on it. If any of the little bastards happy slapped me I'd bitch slap them to death, inbetween kung fu punches.
I believe it's all the fault of PC fanatics. Those who insist that you cant do anything to kids, and they can be disciplined by talking to them in a mature way.
Oh how I would love to see them get happy slapped and talk it through
what these people normally do is record it to their phone & upload it on the internet to share with other people
already one person has died from this as he got hit with a cone

yes, those 99's can be very dangerous
My son was still at school when he first showed me websites dedicated to happy slapping. The yobs version of Jack Ass TV.
OK, slightly off subject here.....
What's with those tweety bird ring tone adverts? Singing in their helium high pitch and thumping each other with the cutest "ya gotta love me" looks on their mugs.
And I wonder why my 5 year old suddenly lashes out mid-sentence :shakeshead:
It's not as rare as you think there are or has been a gang of 14-16 yo doing this for months at the blue water shopping centre. always picking on the young, the old or Vulnerable.
They did this to my son's friends 12yo sister causing a black eye!!
There first big mistake as my son her brother and some frinds also happened to be there at the time (his friends are local to the area slappers were not) they rang other friends chased them out of the complex and beat the crap out of them
I’m not usually a vigilante but that’s 8+ happy slappers slapped and well deserved they won’t be back
Didn't this all start off a few years ago with those Tango adverts?
I could of sworn that orange coloured creature went around slapping/hitting people,or am I getting confused?
rolleyes

No you are correct. rolleyes Couldn't stand those bloody adverts. mad
Maybe i am being a young fogey but i cant believe what kids get away with these days.
Not sure if its a PC thing or what but they way some behave, and believe they get away with it, pisses me off. I am damn sick of the argument that "boys will be boys" or "oh they're only kids" I once went round to some parents house, and you wonder how they get their role model/example from.
I dont personally believe in the caning thory, or national service etc, but there has got to be some sort of personal responsibilty, on the kids as well as the parents part. I dont have kids as yet, but i know that when i do they would be the most important thing in my life and i wouldn't want them out at all hours, not knowing where they were. Is it really that hard to take responsibilty for bringing someone into this crazy world.
I think its too easy to blame tv/the media for highlighting the situation. Not seen jackass for ages, but i assume it doesnt say "right kids, you've seen us do it now try it for yourself type of thing". Aso, i know its not all kids that are brats, but those that are - grrr
ok off my soapbox...
p.s. would banning hoodies stop the behaviour? Prsonally i have never seen a hoodie acting on its own volition...anyway thats another thread rolleyes
the real problem is no one nowadays ids responsible for their own actions. someone else, somewhere is always to blame.
Also kids now now that teachers, and the police can't do anything to them anymore. gone are teh days when within the first week of a new term, 1 or 2 kids were made an example of by being caned, pumped, rulered it sent out a message that you behave or this happens. The police would cuff a young lad around the ear if they were caught doing something they shouildn't, the lad nowing that if it went further they would be in really trouble and eventually their parents would find out and then they would be in real shite.
But non of that can or does happen anymore because the pc leftie tree huggers( no one in jail deserves to be in jail, it again is someone else's fault) have made sure it can't
Rant over
Interesting thread smile
I have seen something similar (maybe the same but it was a while ago.) Jackass inspired but far more sinister. A group of young males were filming violence in the street, school yards etc and made a tv show/dvd about it. Apparently they were paying the people 'appearing' to fight/perform stupid stunts for the benefit of entertainment dunno
The show they made was called 'bumfights' and i believe they have plenty of webspace devoted to this phenomena.
One poor guy they paid was a homeless drunk, they paid him to do various things..fighting etc but the sickest thing was they paid him $200 to have the programme name tattooed onto his forehead mad
I couldn't watch the whole show about it as I was feeling physically ill from all the violence involved..but it transpired that the sick little fuckers who made this made millions from the dvd sales confused Some of the victims who appeared did take legal action against the group but to no avail as they had all agreed to participate in the 'activities' . sad
I thought I had seen it all until watching this..a real (disturbing) eye-opener.
Minx xx
when i was younger my dad used to have a cane perched on the door frame he never had to use it if we were naughty he used to glance up at it i used to shit myself hopefully these nanny 911 programmes etc... should show parents how to disapline children without having to hit um, colins lad is very well behaved because he knows if i count and get to 3 then well.......but at the end of the day i never get past 1!!!!!!! hes not my child to hit but hes more scared of it happening!!!!!!
children are soo evil nowadays!!!!!!!
fair enough when i was younger i was no angel but people dont sort things out through expression of views and understanding but through violence!!!!!
louxxx
I saw some kids use their phone to record them hitting a -- sleeping -- old guy over the head with a newspaper. Poor guy. The kids quickly bolted off the train.
