Graham and I have his daughter and a friend staying the weekend and I wondered what you guys might be a classic St George's day dinner that would appeal to two teenagers.
Happy St Georges Day!
Get those flags out you had for the World Cup, hang them on your house and for one day let's be proud of being English!!!!!

Thank you HH..... for too long our flag has been associated with disagreeable elements of society, let us not forget that along with the other citizens of these islands we are the birthplace of modern democracy, a champion of justice and freedom in the world, an industrious, inventive people that should hold their heads high and say I'm English/Scottish/Welsh and British and bloody proud of it!
By the way St George is also the patron saint of Catalonia (north eastern Spain) and was actually a Roman soldier who was beheaded for declaring his christianity to the Emperor Diocletian after scolding him for his cruelty.
Dont forget, there are Northern Irish also proud to be British.
Anyway - I agree
Happy St Georges Day!!
Have a great day to you all and let us be proud of our heritage!!!!
British by birth, English by grace of god....
(thats rather ironic as Im half Welsh.....oh well).....

Yeahhhhhhh - great day to celebrate
:bounce: :bounce: :bounce:
Put the flag pole up first thing this morning, hoisted the flag - wow
All this obvioulsy done in the pouring rain.
It is weird though - put mine up at 9 am and now other flags are slowly appearing in the street.
So come on everyone - sometimes it just takes one to start a trend. Get those flags out that we all had for the World Cup and stick them up - bet you will be amazed at how many people follow suit.

Whatever "Saint George" was he wasnt English or even British.!!!!!!!!!!!!
I suppose its quiet fitting that we English have a saint who wasnt from the country as non of us can claim to be true Brits based on the number of invaders we have had in our history.
Any way Happy St Georges day if it makes you happy

Right Ice my friend - here's a couple of targets for ya! (If you can catch 'em)

No opportunity missed to get the Welsh on the radar!! Mind you, it always amazes me how we Celts can be so fervently patriotic and then feel uncomfortable/threatened/offended when the English do the same!! dunno

sad ain't it, but understandable? englishness and the flag have had such negative, jingoistic connotations for so long, it's about time they were reclaimed from the far right.
Happy St. George's Day!

Well I think there are too many people with only one eye open when they look at the English. (Geez did I say that? Kitty be gentle with me!)
