well from my point of view technology with regard to swinging has been a great help.
Before the internet was widely used the only way I knew of getting in touch with like minded people was via contact magazines.
Not something we ever did and we didnt realise there were swinging clubs. :doh:
Anyway with regard to the internet it has been great for us we've now got a wide circle of social contacts and although we no longer play we still like to socialise. Something i don't think would have been possible if it wasn't for the internet, also you have the opourtunity to get to know potential playmates before you meet them this to me made the whole thing a lot safer than meeting up with strangers who had no accountability to anyone for any of there actions and lets face it there are some very strange people out there.
Another great peice of technology I have to say is satnav I'm sure many swingers will agree lol.

At best it's a bloomin' miracle, you get in touch with people you'd have never found pre-internet!
We had our very first (disastrous) meet nearly 20 (!!) years ago, off the back of someones ad in a "Mucky Mag" with a personals section.
We got in touch by letter (no phone) and had an unsealed reply pushed under our door.
We were living with my parents :!: :shock:
So yes- T'internet, and the wealth of contact options that can be kept private, have been bluddy brilliant!
Once upon a time there were contact magazines that relied on box numbers and snail mail. Then along came Loot with voice mail ads towards the back, we had lots of meets out of there. The internet (SH in particular) has certainly been a boon for swingin and setting up meets often within hours of a first contact.

Looks like we're in the minority here; but we preferred the scene before the internet in one big way...there were a lot less timewasters ad w***ers around...at least in our experience. Yes it took longer to arrange a meet (we used to use the ads in Trade-It...a SW version of Loot!), but we NEVER had a no-show!
I'm new here, but have to say the internet has been a good thing.
Firstly if it wasn't for the internet I wouldn't have found this site. I have seen other sites but this seems more genuine. And yes you get idiots, but that happens in everything you do in work or play
The internet is like the windows of a department store. You get to look in without buying and then you find you have a local store, if you get my drift.
Without the internet the swinging scene wouldn't be as big.
Its been for the better for us as we would probably not ever got into swinging if it wasnt for the internet and being able to set up what we want from the comfort of our own home.
