I have been swinging for a while and met some great people but always wondered what people where talking about when they said they had a bad experience, then last night it happened.
About a week ago I replied to a couple's ad asking for a guy to join them Saturday night. They liked me, we clicked via email, then we swapped numbers and spoke on the phone and they seemed nice and genuine. They asked me to sort a hotel room out in the town where they lived and they would chip in. We spoke again on the phone and the male stressed that they had planned a lot for this night, babysitters etc and they did not want letting down, so I assured them I was no bottler or timewaster and would be there. I went to the Manchester derby yesterday and where I would usually get the train and have a few drinks with friends, I drove and stayed sober as I didn't want to turn up smelling of beer.
So I got to the hotel a couple of hours before we were due to meet and started to get ready. Then 15 minutes before we were due to meet I'm texted them to see if everything was still on time and they text back to say they were'nt coming. No sorry, thank you or F evil  CK all.
After a bit of text tennis I decided they were just taking the piss, so I asked where could a single guy go, in a town like this, with an empty hotel room on a Saturday night and they text back telling me to get a cab to the next town!!
It wasn't bad enough they spoilt my day out at the football, wasted my time and £65 on a hotel room, they were also quite callous about it WHY!!!! I have no idea.
SO after spending a day kicking the dog, I thought there must be more people out there with bad experiences. Some might be worse than mine but it would probably help in the healing process to know that lots of others go through the mill, so please share you bad stories with me and help stop me hitting the bottle tonight.
Can only say one thing in reply to this >>
Did you report it to any of the mods (of which there are few) or to Admin.
Can not say any more

Sorry to hear about you bad experience.... It's times like this that you just wanna shout from the roof top who these people are.... But unfortunetly, you can't confused
I have been let down plenty of times... and yes, it knock's you.
I hope the next time you have better luck...

They sound like complete tossers. Are they members of this site?
We all get abused in some way or another by people who seem to lead such sad lives as the two you've mentioned. Best to forget it and move on. They're not worth any more of your time.
There are times when I think "Name and shame" is justified and should be allowed.
wink
sorry to hear you been messed around mate. you could put up their ad number if you like? hehe

hehe.... you can't do that.... regardless of this... they have there right of privacy...
I would advise as Fred did to report it to admin or something...
Not sure of what they will be able to do... But they can at least keep a log of it for future referance
yeah they have a right to privacy but the ad is public isnt it?
Hi
And this is 1 of the reasons why we don' travel unless we know someone..
Can't afford to waste money if the other party backs out!
Shaz x
Not sure they have a right to hide behind their privacy when they use it to abuse people like this.
I've often wondered how many of the phone numbers written on the walls of toilet cubicles belong to people like them who've messed decent folk around, and have been written there by someone they've pissed on.
Now there's a thought!

I hope that you support Man City, otherwise your day yesterday would have been TOTALLY shit ;)
lol nah im not that interested in getting into contact with them, but people like that deserve a ton of spam..... lol
Unfortunately - shit happens!
Sometimes things just happen and plans go out of the window.
However, people who set up situations to piss regular people around are just sad fuckers - be thankful you are not trapped in their pathetic little world.
we were in town (manchester) last night shame you didnt know earlier , there was a few of us , could have met up for drink , we get let down sometimes too but sometimes have to back out too due to babysitters so on , but always feel really guilty and try to make it up , and suppose if your a united fan it was a bad day all round wink , but keep ya chin up seem a nice fella and am sure u will have plenty of meets that dont take the piss
sam and lucy x
It's pants but it happens to us all too frequently, only we're the couple and it's the guys who don't show. Nowadays it's our policy never to shag on the first date, for this reason more than any other. We insist on a half-hour meet for a drink on the first date and then go off and do something else (maybe even a threesome / moresome biggrin with people we already know). Doing this means that when we encounter (or rather don't) a timewaster we're not left feeling to down-at-heel about it.
the point is this bloke didnt even get an apology off them after spending money on a hotel........thats just plain ignorent, selfish and low of them.
yeh agree totaly , its a shit thing to do , and you can bet they do it a lot too
Unfortunately there are all too many people like that in this world. The upside is though that when you meet and make friends with some of the lovely people who are around as well they make up for 100 of the worthless tossers!
Rant over!
smile :)
so, you had a bad experience, they took the piss, you wont be contacting them again, nor they you.........
but - there is an upside to thi you know.....
Most couples and single fems are looking for genuine guys who show a little bit of thought and consideration - I think you've done that.......you sortted the hotel, you kept good communication, you put some effort into the meet - you deliberatly didnt drink, you chose to drive etc etc - now that, in my book will get you much further than dwelling on this one failed meet biggrin
every cloud has a silver lining luv! wink
yeah it makes you appreciate the good people more....that's a good positive thought eagerslut!

At a guess, I'd say they have one this many time before....
And i hope, if they are members of this site..... They are reading all of this!!
Wow, gosh, thanks for all the support (hasn't stop me hitting the bottle though)
To answer some questions:
Yes they are members of this site, been members since March 2005
No I haven't or probably wont report them (life's too short)
I will not (unless whipped) expose them as they may really have a genuine excuse so I have to give the the benifit of the doubt, this post wast about a lynching but more tales of woe to make me feel better.
And yes I do support Man City so the day wasn't all bad!!
I do feel for yoy Genuineben, its never nice when someone does something so nasty. At times we all have to cancel something we have arranged to do, but it is only common decency to at least apologies as soon as we possibly can.
I do admire you for not naming and shaming (which isnt allowed on here) but if the couple are still members of the site, why not just copy and paste the link to this post and send it to them via a message. At least that way, they will know just what total arse holes they have been! I know it would make me feel better wink
Good luck and dont let this bad experience put you off, there are thousands of decent folk on here who are definately not timewasters.

half the problem though is as much as i feel for him (i have had it happen to me) we have only heard one side of the story....
I have no doubts that you are genuine.. but since they can't/haven't had a chance to defend themselves it really wouldn't be fair....
I would tell a mod..... if others have had problems with them i am sure it would come to light......
chin up mate... it happens to us all... don't let it get to then, and it is there loss!!!
