We were having a chat last night about what would happen if our families ever found out that we were swinging.
We know that they would definately not approve, and would possibly have a "few" words to say about it.
What we wanted to know is have any of you ever been found out by people that you really didnt want to know??
If so what was theyre reaction???

Eeeek the thought of being found out brings me out in a cold sweat.
My parents are fairly easy going, in fact we've often said we wouldn't be surprised if we found them on a website or in a club.
My in-laws ..... "shudders" are very religious, very moral and upright people ....... and they are our babysitters! We would definitely be cut off from them and it's not worth thinking about.
Hello
my hubbies parents used to be swingers years ago so wouldnt be able to say much but as for my parents - think they would die of heart attacks

My family (close) already know, as do close friends... Much easier. However since I am social swinger it is easier on me.
I have had secrets in a previous relationship, but I am lucky to be close with my dad, so even then there was nothing to be 'found out', at least by him. I know how hard it is to lead 2 lives, I don't envy those of you with the difficulty of having to do so.
I wouldnt like my parents to find out, I'm already the black sheep of the family lol. My best friend knows though, its lovely to have someone to talk to about things. She'd never get involved but she doesn't judge me and it's also good from a safety point of view because when I was single I could tell her if I was going to meet someone.

Yeah it's quite hard, you have to think before you speak, which is very difficult for Clare lol
I really wish we could tell friends and family, but they would probably see us as freaks and be very different towards us(especially family).
Maybe we'll let it slip in a few years after weve been doing it for some maybe not thinking about it.
Why are people so judgemental.

My parents wouldn't bat an eyelid, and my sisters would want the juicy details, but if my brother knew  .. he'd assume without asking that he knew precisely what it was all about, decide that because he doesn't "do things like that" it must be wrong, get on his moral soapbox and generally give me a hard time. His wife, on the other hand, would question me about it then probably try to persuade him to give it a go, and the ensuing row would wake the dead. I don't want to be responsible for that so I'm keeping schtum.

I've not actually admitted to being a swinger, but my brother has done some tattoos on another member of this site and since he knows we know her, he's kind put two and two together redface but he's cool about it.
My younger sister would have a fit and immediately jump upon her soapbox!
Jon's parent's would definitely disown him, but probably blame me for leading him astray anyway rolleyes
When the swinging scene has hit the local papers a couple of times over the last few months, I have often joked about being a swinger to my work mates, but they think it's only a joke.
I'm sure they would be extremely shocked to learn it's the truth :lol2:
Jon's work mates already know he's a perv so wouldn't be quite so shocked . . rotflmao :rotflmao:
Tracy-Jayne & Jon
Well someone DID find out about me at Uni but actually he's been really great with me......apart from a few comments about my 'naughty parties' he hasn't really said anything...
My best mate knows but he's a complete pervert anyway so that's fine....LoL.....
But anyone else, well it's private and I wouldn't want anyone else to know about it.....

Steve,
Cant answer you there mate, been fuming all day about the newspaper article (see the other thread)... grr... mad
If people really knew what happened, stopped hiding behind what they 'think' happens, lots of emotive language (sordid, etc...), and met some of the great real people here... well you never know. Maybe they could get to understand, or at least ignore us.
Really gets my goat when people get on their high horse without even knowing of the world of which they speak. Add in the dreaded 'internet' word... oo scary. It is such a shame we cant be open, still a few years back you couldn't be 'gay', maybe one day people will get the hang of live and let live...
I was organising a party through another site (it didn't happen evil but thats why i'm here so, another time) and i accidently sent an e-mail to one of my friends. She thought i was talking about an ann summers party at first and really wanted to come.
When i explained to her what was actually going on, i think she got a bit scared. Dont talk much to her anymore, but she was so shocked  she is yet to tell anyone what had happened
screw them, if they can't handle what you are and what you enjoy doing and accept that you are happy doing it then they can't claim to have your best interests at heart.
the way i see it is people like sex ( duh! ) and swingers are way more open about it and that scares some people as they wish they could be that way.

....and fascinating your blog is too, daisy. I very much admire your frankness. And I don't see any need for you to delete it.

Sorry to hijack the thread but I have been found out by a few this week - I keep a blog in which I write EVERYTHING in
Well, I now have to contend with knowing people that know me/of me know I am into stuff redface
sorry if this makes no sense i think i am in shock
should i delete my blog???

I know I may be being dense but what on earth is a blog?
Blog, short for "web log". It's a sort of "dear diary"/confessional, online. Do a search on google, you will find thousands. Some are very boring, some are fascinating, most are somewhere in between.
Mike.
well my family have guessed at a lot of my activities and i live with my niece who is adult enough to understand my activities so to be honest i dont worry about it..if my family found out they wouldnt be happy as thety are commited christians but it wouldnt worry me if they fouind out..as for my friends i dont think they would worry to much as most of them have had some sort of fun or another over the years and if they or my family judged me and made a fuss then they wouldnt care that much would they???!! if anyone asked me if i swing i would say yes..just the same as if i was bi or gay i wouldnt hide it ( my niece actually begged me to " go gay" as she put it cos it would be cool to have a gay uncle hahahaha)
seriously though i wouldnt worry that much clare and steve if they got funny about it then they werent really much of a friend
Good God if my folks ever found out about me swinging they would die of fright.
My brother poor lad (bless him) is prolly still a virgin so he would not have a clue what swining is (prolly think its something done in a park next to a slide / Slyde) ... mmmm ... how true he would be lol
