height- advantage or disadvantage?

Gah! Seats on planes! I'm sometimes tempted to try first class, just once, for the experience. But I know that once I did, I'd never be able to return to the seats that I can afford.
Getting things out of low cupboards can be tricky. There's a lot of me, and the cupboard under the sink seems to have been purposely designed to require folding my body into impossible positions. But I suppose around here that'd be considered good training, so I won't expect any sympathy.
I used to have this foolish notion that a tall man and a short woman would have a variety of practical problems with sex. Now that I'm older and wiser, I know that nothing can stop two people enjoying themselves if they want it.
It's been a long time DJohn - good to see you back in here. wave
Mike.
Disadvantages....
When I was young...The nick names... Big Bird...Lucky legs...Lanky Lucy...
Were you born in a Green House...Do you sleep in a Grow Bag...Lurch...!!!...
Disadvantages now... Can never find trousers long enough in main stream shops!!
Can never go un-noticed when im trying to sneak around...
haha nicknames......im still called lancy now.....see ;)
plane seats are terrible.....i have to get the front ones with leg room, and you always get little old ladies booking them first when they dont need em.
also never try POTHOLING if your over 6' i can verift you wont get far and might get stuck. lol
I know what you mean lancy!
I am 6 feet 9 inches tall. I used to find it really embarrasing, even from a young age (I was 6ft when I started secondary school lol ) and sooooo many people came out with the same 4 or 5 jokes. Do you sleep in a growbag?.... do you eat 3 shredded wheat? ....What's the weather like up there?......etc.
Now though, I love being this tall. I get to find anyone I want to in a crowd, people generally remember me when they have met me, and, since I have put on a bit of weight as i got older and no longer looked lanky, I find that ladies quite like it too! lol
Yes, there are still some drawbacks, I still have trouble getting size 15 shoes, clothes are a nightmare to buy and look half way fashionable, and I hit my head constantly on every single doorway/light fittings/bus stops/traffic lights but I am learning to duck now and ebay is helping with the clothing.
I have two sons (their mother is 5'3") and while I would like them to be tall, I am hoping that they will be about 6'3"/6'4".
The only problem I still have is finding women tall enough to allow me to kiss them without slipping a disc!!!

 bugger!
I would love to be taller, I'm only 6'5" and can't be called skinny. I can't say I really find any problems apart from beds being a bit short sad

Sometimes I wish I was taller, I'm only 5'3 sad . When I go to gigs I can't see a thing cos everyone else is so tall.

I wouldn't worry about it.. I'm 6ft 3in tall, and every time I go to a concert, I always get the 6ft 8in+ guys in front of me, so I can't see anything either... biggrin
There's always a bigger fish....
I like being 6ft 3in, I think its about right.. And I do have a thing for tall women :D
Small women also have a place in my life, usually for me to rest my beer on their heads as I chat up the taller women lol
Well i look up to everyone cos i,m only redface confused ..but there is an advantage !!! at the rugby i get to stand with the kids on the wall and get to see those sexy big guys in little shorts more closely  ....but then again there are some kids taller than me surprisedops:

that would be me, we do it on purpose lol.
agreed with not getting clothes that look half decent....i import my wardrobe from the US now including trainers etc.
I am sixfoot two and proud of my body.
On the plus side : yobo's think twice before taking me on.
Can see more in a crowd.
Usefull for reaching up high.
People look up to me.
Minus : None really, I enjoy walking tall.
hi jane here, bein 5 11 myself, i do prefere a taller bloke.... 6ft 2 + works well 4 me as this is about my height in shoes... chris is a tad smaller than me but i dont like men at tit height!!
so taller the better...., stand proud!!
'm only 6'2", so don't have too many of the problems experienced by really tall people, but do have a few compounded by me being almost as broad as I am tall (well not really, but I do have a 52" chest measurement).
Clothes can be a bit of a pain in the arse, or more accurately across the shoulders. Fortunately I've started to notice a lot more places selling XXL t-shirts and stuff like that, and although I'm tall I've got quite short legs relative to the rest of me, so getting trousers to fit isn't a huge problem. Size 13 feet can be annoying to get shoes for, I tend to buy them online most of the time, actually that goes for most of my clothes, it's the most reliable way to find somewhere with stock in my size.
I don't fly for several reasons, but not fitting into a standard plane seat in terms of both leg room and shoulder room is quite a big part of that. I travel by train a lot and book cheap first class tickets wherever possible if I'm travelling for more than three hours or so, that way I get to the other end still able to walk.
Other than that, and trying to find beds/towels big enough for me being tall is pretty good. I like being able to see over the top of people's heads, reach high things without a ladder, and scare small children.

SO.... size really does matter then lol

Indeed it does.
While it's (almost, sort of) true we're all the same laying down, you still have to sort out the logistics of things like thigh length for the good old back skuttle, and overall leg length for kitchen work
Stairs can be useful tho wink
lol @ dam buster.

Its ok sexyann, I'm short too. Us little peeps have got to stick together, perhaps if one of us stands on the others shoulders they'll be able to see us? wink
I'm only 5'3 but havn't found it to be a problem. nothing wrong with resting your head on a womans chest. and as someone has already said, "all the same height when were laying down".oh eer!!

Myself, personnaly use too hate being tall.
i used to alway's get picked on at school, and could never get a boyfriend
Thing's are not much better now, hav'nt got as much choice of men as other 'normal' sized women have. and it's impossible to buy a pair of trouser's that fit me any where.
But, i've excepted i am the way i am. if you dont like me, tough shit evil it's what's inside that really matter's.
Lancyuk, i used to really have bad hang up's over my height, and was really worried how ppl here would treat me. well all i can say is, about the ppl of swinging heaven is it did'nt matter if i was 7ft or 3 ft. nobody here judged me on my height just if i was a nice person or not.
I even gained alot more confidence since being here, so stop worrying about what size you are, and just be yourself and you will be just fine.
