Should I get a wax or shave

Can someone tell where I could find an experienced waxing salon in Kent or SE London? dunno
It'll be my first wax, and I want to do it as an anniversary pressie for my wife ( 9 years since we met on the 30th ) . We've tried home waxing on her and achieved nothing more then Mrs S loudly lol - apparently normal for her - and I want to surprise her :rascal:
Obviously don't know any salons in your area but the choice of whether to shave or wax is purely personal.
Your post doesn't really help, as I can't make out if she was the one de-fuzzing at home, or if she was doing you, nor if it was any good.
Also, it depends on your hair & skin type. When I went to be waxed, they left the hair & ripped the skin. rolleyes But shaving is a daily chore, unless I want stubble. I guess we all suffer from that, somewhere on our bodies.
What areas are you planning to remove hair from? Yes it's a serious Q.

Sorry vix, I attempted to help with her bikini line, and as for me - if it's the wax I'd go for crack and sack ( back and chest is naturally hairless ), if it's a blade ( or three ) I'll just do me sack - I don't trust a razor in my hand near me hole - oh yeah, I'll shave my head again ( been a bit lazy this last week or so rolleyes )
Veet every time. biggrin
Never tried wax, & can't afford to lose the blood to the blade!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
It's Groundhog Day !!! rolleyes   lol

What's your opinion on the smell ( I still remember using immac ) and your partners opinion on the after taste? :uhoh:

I'm sorry but ( MISSCHIEF I hope you're reading this ) I have got to be as thick as mince, banghead 'cos I still haven't got a scooby as to what the connection is :banghead: :banghead: - unless it's an initiation rite for first time topic creators dunno

Smell is ok, as far as I can remember. I always do it just before a shower, so I wouldn't think there is an aftertaste. However, I shall enquire next time. wink
Does anyone have an opinion on this? PLEEAASSSSEEEE!
If anyone cares about this I'd like to say I shaved, in the end - and despite having to wait nearly two days for my opportunity, iwas a total surpise, and well wor biggrin th it.
Try The Refinery. Its located in the City area of London.
I' m looking for something nearer Kent / M25, cos I work in Maidstone, not the City sad
Right. DIY time then.
Strip off. Into the shower. Douse yoursefl with methylated spirits.
Set yourself on fire with a lighter.
Turn the shower on...............Don't forget that.
Dry off and repeat where necessary.

I've read it and my mind is still telling me "DOOOO WOTTTT!  :scared: :eeek: bolt
That was a bit of humour for those that see it. Check the Refinery on the web. It is a genune male grooming place and you will get good treatment. I don't know what you will find in your area. But I doubt there are similar places in abundant competition.

I've had a look and I can't see any mention of crack and sack waxes sad
Speak to them direct. If you want it ask. Do you think your local 'tanning bed and nail bar', will provide what you want?
I tried a few gaffs, with little success rolleyes
Well there you go. Go out of your way, pay a bit more and get what you want. Job done.
Someone in here once recommended The Sugar Shop in Paddington:

I haven't been there, but apparently they use a method said to be less painful than waxing. Out of your way a bit SJ, but maybe worth considering.
Good luck anyway,
Mike.
Thanks Mike, I've had look at their site, and sent an e-mail for more info - no doubt at some point I will be a client of theirs. biggrin
Friend of mine decided to get his chest waxed a few years back ... told me it was like torture!
Blood EVERYWHERE ... after the first strip had been removed and because he screamed out in shock, the girl doing it asked if he wanted her to stop ... now he had a single strip of hair removed from across his chest and would've looked mighty silly leaving it at that so he told her to 'finish it'!
I thought it was hilarious rotflmao
The male waxing establishment mentioned above - guess how much for back, sack and crack wax..... or - Can you believe it!!!
A bit less for just the arse and sack.....I presume.
Best to find out about the smaller or "private" people who do this. Save yourself some well earnt money. I know of a couple in London but don't know of any further out.
Yes it does hurt a bit but well worth it. Strangely exhilerating. A must for all exhibtionists of course. biggrin
Thanks Peekaboo, but until I find someone who can, I'll probably go to the sugar shop anyway - and until my wages get a healthy boost ( nearly flatlining at the moment ) nothing is on the agenda.
Thank you also, Judy, I appreciate the " science bit ", I knew the funny smell wasn't just my imagination - although I could have lived without " God, I'm sure those girls in the salons get a real kick out of waxing males, they seem to do it with such relish. " Mind you that's a very Karmic attitude you have - spread the love, share the pain. Ouch! :small-print: lol
Well if its a "girl in a salon" you are after to do the job then the SS is not the place to go. Just some camp boys who are obviously into camp boys. Thats not an issue for me as I go to a bloke myself who is pretty dishy in a masculine way. Its a price thing and not feeling as if you are on a conveyer belt. That and the fact I wouldn't mind seeing him bent over after the job accepting my large "tip". rolleyes

I'm not fussed if my waxer ( for want of a better term ) is male, female, gay, straight, bi, transgender, black, white  - sorry, I think you get the gist - as long as the end result is nice and smooth. But it is a moot point, until I get my pay rise, and I know how much it is.
