Hi there – am no techie so I have a problem which needs advice from some of you people better placed to advise.
Just bought my son an Inspiron 6400 laptop from Dell – using AOL ‘Netgear’ router – when we try to connect to the home network we get a message ‘Limited or Low Connectivity’ – anyone got any ideas what might be the problem and of course, how to fix???
where is the router in relation to the laptop and have you tried moveing the laptop to the router
With it nexted to the router you still get the low or limited connection
yes - am trying it with 6 inches of the router
are you asked for a security key or password cause most wireless routers have built in security restricting access
sure am - but the offending message appears after the password etc have been keyed in
Have you tried switching of or reseting the router
also where did you get the password from
have tried both off and reset - password is the one used for the network - isn't this the one you meant??
