Help Please!!!!

Hi Folks,
I am recently new here so please bear with me.
I seem to be having serious problems with my laptop. I have broadband and for some reason my laptop seems to be as slow when it opens most web pages (as slow as the normal internet connection). My laptop is just over a year old as well.
I have done everything i can think of (defragmenting the hard drive, checking the computer for spy ware programmes and clearing all of my internet folders). If i have missed something please tell me as it is causing me problems even when i am on here.
If anybody can help me or give me suggestions it would be much appreciated.

Go to Google and look for 'Dan Elwell's Broadband Speed Test'.
Run that and it should give you some idea of what sort of download and ping speed you're getting which should give you a clue as to where your problems lie.

How long has it been going on for? If only a couple of days first port of call is the ring you Service Provider - there could be a known fault.
Other than that may be an idea to visit a Internet Connection speed site - just put it in Google. To see what the speed of your connection is.
Best bet is to conect your provider and complain!!!

There's another good speed test . Remember though, you could have the fastest connection in the world, but if the web site is oversubscribed or hosted on a slow server then webpages will open slowly.
Another thing to check would be spyware. Check out JQL's excellent article for advice on handling spyware.
