Hep B vaccination

Hi,
Since I'm newly single and thoroughly enjoying it hump

, I've been wondering about the merits of Hepatitis B vaccination. I always use condoms for penetrative sex, but not for oral sex. I know this is something that's strongly recommended for gay men and bisexual men, but does anyone have any information on the importance for heterosexual people?
Also, has anyone actually had this vaccination? What does it entail?

ive had hep injection but merely for my work we all have it when dealing with bodily fluids you never know what you might pick up

I've had Hep B injection so I guess I'm safe....
I hate to say it but I never use Condoms with Oral Sex either.....should we?

How would I explain to the doc why I want it?! lol

That said, after the viral hep, I could always claim paranioa!

When I had it, it was 3 injections over a 6 month period although it can be done over a shorter time. I had them when I went on holiday so you can always use that as an excuse, you can always go to a travel clinic to have them too wink

Ohhhh thankyou! I thought it was only Hep A they did for holidays! So what other STD`s would we have to watch out for with oral? (I know theres a link, but it`s more rewarding to discuss smile

)
I`d love to be able to lose the `condoms with oral` mention in our website, but I`m not sure we can.

theres just a few which can be transmitted orally and quite easy its a bit harder for a women to catch a std with oral

Doing the work I do worldwide I have had numerous amount of injections from rabies & yellow fever to Hep B
Hep B involves 1 initial jab, another a month later, the 3rd for me was 3 months later with a follow up blood test & booster required at the 6 month point.
Unfortunatley the first course I had resulted in me having no form of resistance to at the blood works stage with no explanation as to why this occured.
But good old work in conjunction with the hozzie decided they wud use a new strain of it to 'try' on me.
So another course occured & thankfully I am immune now.
This will last you 5 years I was told, but as for all these things they aint 100% closer to 95%.
So if in doubt play safe

Yes, I do remember reading something about that, genital warts too. Needless to say I`m cautious. I have a family life I`d like to keep!

well make them wear there hood and you should be fine ,scares the shit outta me i can tell you reading about this stuff makes me wonder because i love oral both ways without protection but it sort of puts me off till i get down there then lick lick lick yum lol

Because I am such an active member of the swinging community I decided it would be good for me to attend the GUM clinic on a regular basis to make sure I stayed safe. It was they who recommended the Hep B vaccine and have administered the course. (I go for my antibodie count on Friday) It has been three injections over 3 months, then wait six weeks for the test.
The clinic is also recommending the use of condoms for oral sex and has supplied me with fruit flavoured condoms for free. (Really not sure if I will make use of them as I am not sure guys will be too keen on been asked to use them.)
I just wanted people to know you can go somewhere other than your GP for the vaccine.

Hi Martha, I would suggest being firm, no condom, no play... It your body after all and I never found condoms that much of an issue if the other party knows what they doing smile

Yes it is different, but you only got one life and an STD (not even the bad ones) could seriously impact on it. Do what you feel you need, most guys say 'All limits respected' this is just one of those.
