Happy 100th lol
I won't expect to be in my flat over christmas, so no tree or decorations either, but I'll be making sure there's one down at rottingdean, where we'll be staying over the hols.
Congrats on 100th post.
It is too early for the tree - next weekend at the earliest.
I have 3 for various reasons, so I have a choice - all are fake but look pretty good. Real are nice but have to be really big to look anything but skinny. And i'm not into all that hoovering that goes with a real one.
Opposite are putting their outside lights up - again, mine will go up next weekend unless the weather is bad.
being done as i type thats why im hiding in the cafe :silly:
normaly like foxy it would be done next week (but we're out next weekend)drinkies
tree type: fake !!! but a good one nice and bushy and looks like a spruce
all the decs come down straight after new years eve and xmas is over lol
Tree up decs up, fake fibre optic
Doesn't go up till the 24th
I have to admit to being a bit 'bah humbug' when it come to starting Christmas this early in the year (even though we've been subjected to it for at least a month now rolleyes).
I used to wait until the night of the 24th, open a bottle of wine, and do the decs then. The smiles on the kids faces on Christmas morning when they saw it all was a treat - even through the hangover. smile
However, my current wife is a lot more eager, so I suspect they'll be going up this weekend or next. ;)
And our tree is a real fibre optic!

That is so unusual, but what would happen as a child, go to bed, and the housde used to be transformed overnight! Fantastic to wake up to, lot of hard work though!
Mines up, not decorated yet and real.
We usually put ours up on the first weekend in December. With one thing and another we've not got round to it yet and I'm feeling pretty un-christmassy (only bought 1 present so far) so I need to seriously sort my life out!
Putting ours up 2moz, was gona do it 2day but had visitors.
A 2ft fake fibre optic for in the hall way.
And a 6ft fake fibre optic for in the lounge.
Ohhh and happy 100th :small-print::thrilled:
Fake tree here for us. I do like to be Eco friendly on occasions smile the tree will go up sometime in the next week I should imagine although I'm not keen on things dangling from ceilings and walls but I think this tear i'm being out gunned and its going to happen regardless
3 fake and 1 reak but wont goup till 12th
one fake tree was put up on the 2nd dec although apey wasnt happy he wanted to put it up next week on his birthday
Son has his birthday in the last week of Bovember - we would never have naything to do with Christmas before that has passed (apart from making the cake maybe). It would be awful to have your birthday swallowed up in the preparations for Christmas.
Like foxy, our traditions are tied up with birthday dates. As a result, Christmas trees and decorations don't go up till the weekend after the 13th.
I have a fake tree.
Artificial tree that wont be going up until the week before Christmas and will be coming down the week after new year.
I have just been informed that this year we will also be hosting "them dangly lights" in the windows.

Ben,
serves you right for upsetting Minx
lol
You know her too well mucker.
Never been one for the trappings of christmas, I dont do any decorations
I enjoy it as a family get together and the opportunity to see friends, old and new and have fun, so I guess Im not totally grinch!
I do intend to shave a picture of mistletoe into my pubes....... incase I can persuade someone to kiss under it :rascal:
Christmas Eve n Day at ours anybody, we know most cant meet then because of family and such but there must be some like us who dont have family ties that day smile
Our false tree will be put up on Saturday. Don't really have the time before then even if I wanted too do it
i finally got round to buying a tree this year, as the last two years, i've not bothered, took it out of the box.. spent an hour arranging all the branches so they dont look crap, and got board... so i have got a almost plain tree just standing in the corner.. i will get around to decorating properly it at some point.
False tree here and I put it away so Shi is gonna struggle getting it out even if she finds it.

Wow, one more for the list here... The reason why I was putting up the tree so early was because I had family visiting for my child's birthday... an uncanny attempt to distract them from the state of the rest of the house lol More with apey on this one, I think it is nice to have it done early so it's there at the birthday!

I am amazed, never thought/heard of this before. Sounds great! But then you don't get to utilise your children's labour to put the decorations up ;)

There is *always* a friend or relative that can't get enough of tree decorating! Find out who and invite them over for even a cuppa... they will TAKE OVER at the slightest hint of you needing help with it!
