Talk to your partner about fantasies - not yours, theirs. Once you know the type of thing they fantasise about, then you have a fair idea about whether they would be interested.
Oh, and make sure you are already having lots of sex, otherwise they may think you are mearly bored with them and you are trying to get a shag elsewhere.
