If I feel I can't say what it is I want to say - I don't say it. I certainly don't walk on eggshells or pretend, I just :gagged:
In Edit: I know it has been said that there are 3 types of hijacking.. I think there are 3.5 types. lol

Sickly hijacking is one thing (and yes I have been known to partake!) but I would rather that than those people that make negative off-topic comments because they see their chance to get in a dig or harp back to old crap!
And no that isn't aimed at any one person, sadly there are a few about!

I suppose i used to hijack a bit and dont really now. Nothing to do with any site changes or politics or anything else other than the fact that i dont post that often and dont recognise many of the names. My walking on eggshells is the fear that people wont get me.

Yes you are right, and perhaps i am too damn lazy to start again over here. However, perhaps hijacking also shows a laziness in taking the easy option rather thinking constructively.

I would like to agree with easy and many others who like me, say what they mean and are not easily offended.
I have No problems with Hijacking with regard to my own threads! Why??
Well, it can resemble a person to person conversation in most cases, because we all natter on about something or another and how many times has the conversation ended up a million miles away from the original topic?? rolleyes

From the tone of this thread, it would appear that the main gripe people have is the lovey dovey you're so fab Hijack!! :dry: Well, If I'm not the recipient of that lovey stuff then I just pass on to the next post etc..

I'm here because I like it.. and as said previously here(as I do read through threads especially if I intend on adding to it) You can't please Everyone, you never will. Don't get hung up on that, it's a part of life!

I walk on eggshells; I bite my tongue everyday on this site. I make stupid hijacks in posts sometimes just to avoided saying the things that I know would get me a ban and seldom post in threads like this simply because I have seen others fall foul of the “if you disagree with us you ain’t one of us” mentality that some have. Or I just shut the feck up.

From the tone of this thread, it would appear that the main gripe people have is the lovey dovey you're so fab Hijack!!
but it's nice I think that people do flirt smile

Oh yes, i'm not disputing the origin of the thread, nor dismissing. I'm just passing observations and how i percieve them!
But surely those with a valued input for that topic would reply only to that! I know that I for one do!

Hey guys let's have some perspective here. We're all here for fun, so many are complaining the Forum is dull and not doing anything proactive about it and even trying to change that by encouraging or initiating positive posts/topics.
Yes Lairdy you started it, but many of us quickly jumped on the bandwagon appreciating such humour and really having fun that night. I think it bought much needed humour and camaraderie to the Forum which can only be a good thing. I can't get rid of my Nowegain jumper pic on my desktop, it has such fond memories wink

I think it just seemed right, it wasn't planned, a spark sparked and activated a few people. That's what makes a good lively Forum. If it had been a thread about serious personal issues or similar then maybe it would have been deemed insensitive but I really think the benefit gained from the hijack in this case was a really positive one for the whole Forum.
Now about that shag Lairdy? :haha:

I've just stood on my eggshells so I'll post and take the flaming or any consequences that go with it. I don't post outwith the AUP, never have, never will.
I was totally guilty in hijacking that particular thread put up too and I did indeed have a right giggle over it. It wasn't offensive it was fun and for me that's the first time in a long time that it's been fun here. It wasn't a hugely "serious" discussion (sorry Mar but you know what I mean) and it ran to I think around 17 pages of complete nonsense. I'm sure I wasn't the only one giggling! I make no apology for that... I had a blast! biggrin

I was trying to keep out of this whole chat about munches and socials and other sites and hijacking but it's getting to the point where I'm having trouble reading stuff because it's so unnecessary and makes me wonder exactly how old everyone is. The behaviour on Sunday night appauled me and it's even more appauling that people can't give an opinion on something in a polite and civil manner without airing dirty laundry in public. There's no need. I don't want to read it and I don't want to take part in it. I object wholeheartedly that we can't all get on as adults and people reading this from the outside must be thinking that we're a right bunch of muppets! rolleyes

Granted not everyone is going to like everyone else but if I come across something that I think may make me rant a bit I either rant a bit or I ignore it and move on. I would certainly never speak to someone in a manner that I wouldn't wish to be spoken to myself.
Adults? Swingers? Sex? No... that's not what I see the majority of the time. I see adults behaving like children and it's pathetic. Okay... so that's a contradiction in terms cause I'm the first to hold my hands up and say that I love a bit of childish nonsense but it should always be in the form of banter. It's unnacceptable for people to be bullied, picked on and spoken to in a manner that wouldn't happen in real life. Is hiding behind a PC throwing insults or picking holes in other peoples opinions really the level we want to be at? It certainly isn't for me.
This isn't directed at anyone in particular but I'm sure it'll ring some bells along the way. When I first started out round the sites I saw the community and that's what totally hooked me. I saw people looking out for each other and talking about all sorts of everything. It was fun and interesting and I liked checking out people's sense of humour along with their pervy pics! It seems that from time to time the forums quieten down and that's okay, there's always a lull but rather than using that lull to be mean to each other to fill the void can we not do something constructive instead? Like... oh, maybe some adult discussions about anything and everything without them resulting in a mad bucket of bickering at every turn?
If you don't like someone then move along. If you don't agree then post your side of the discussion and discuss. Seems fairly simple to me! dunno

So there... how's that for a hijack! :D

My third type of hijacking wasn't aimed at that particular thread and I didn't even have it in mind. THAT sort of hijacking in my PERSONAL opinion was, as Calista said, a taste of SH of old.
SH of old is gone, buried and much missed. Just as my childhood is gone, buried and much missed. What's coming next had better be damn good and just as tasty.

I'm not sure i'm responsible for hijacking but certainly for not saying what I really think for fear of being banned.
We left here about a year ago because things changed. Although we didn't post a great deal, we've been around some time now.
We recently decided to come back and see if it was any different and it is. I think it's worse. I rarely post on here anymore due to the fact that I do tend to say what I think and be dammned and I think if I did that, I would probabaly last less than a week here before getting the boot. I try not to be offensive to people but I'm very emotional and if something riles me, I reply.
Over the 'other side' (am I going to get banned for that? lol) I feel I am more able to be myself but still not to the point where I say what I really think.
Still, at least I know the people I can be completely honest with and even if we don't agree, we aren't going to come to blows over it. It is a shame more people dont feel able to be honest tho for fear of getting the boot.

there seems to be some kind of paranoia on here that if your honest and speak your mind....your get the boot,there's always two sides to that...and the person who gets banned will always end up on another site...claiming to be a victim of a heavy handed Mod on SH....and as that Mod will not disclaim why someone was banned,people will always side with the banned member,especially if they already have negative feelings about SH....so no you don't get booted from here for being honest and speaking your mind...you get the boot for breaking the AUP its as simple as that!
