hi we are spending a week in bournmouth in july,looking to spend another week somewhere else any sugestions like roman type citys with a bit of a night life
If you like Roman type cities - give Bath a try, it's only a couple of hours from Bournemouth.

Have you considered Canterbury - not technically Roman but similar
Dont know about the roman bit, but Torquay/Torbay is cool.

Winchester is lovely, as are many parts of the New Forest. Both very near Bournemouth.

I agree with Slurpy - and i'd definately go to sandbanks just to see her! If you want to go further south Exeter is ok, but you've probably been there! How about the Isle of Wight

lol no ben never been to exeter,been to quite a few places thats why its getting harder to find new places that we been to the isle of wight either so that might be somewhere we will consider going for a day out when we are there

If you want to visit the Island (as the locals call IOW) you can take the coast road from Bournemouth to Lymington and catch the ferry from there. Lymington's a lovely town with a beautiful harbour (and very posh yacht club!) and it's also on the Southern tip of the New Forest. At this time of year the forest's lambs, foals, calves etc are prolific and gorgeous. Just be careful when you drive through the Forest - the animals roam free (usually right in front of your car!) and the donkeys, although very cute, aren't well-known for their intelligence!

we have decided to go to torquay 1st then way we can spend some time in winchester and the for the tip on the donkeys,as kate says i have about the same inteligence as them so not really a good mix lol
