Warwick;
How much money do you want to spend? If it's a fair amount then I would suggest Bermuda. The beaches are wonderful; 9 golf courses; no dangerous animals; very friendly people... just perfect in my view.
If you need any info then PM me. I have the advantage of having lived there.
Cheers

Ta Paul it sounds great. The only problem is and I should have mentioned this, but Ive been banned from driving for 30 months and I get my licence back soon so I was fancying somewhere I could drive too. Im taking 4 to 6 weeks off from september and want to drive most days cool

Hmmmm... that certainly rules out Bermuda. biggrin
I don't dirve outside the UK .. so can't help you. Though am sure that there are many on this forum that can help.

Don't make any plans, just get into the car, jump on the ferry to France or Belgium and off you go. See where you end up!!! That's what I would do!!
One straightforward trip would be tunnel to Calais, drive down through France into Spain, down to Gibralter, ferry to Morrocco from algeceiras (spelling ?), back to Spain, accross to Portugal and then back up through France to Blghty. I was down in the South of Spain, Gib and Tangier last year at the time you are planning to go and the weather was great. With 6 weeks you could avoid the French tolls and use the N roads instead.
Sounds good concilliator .I wasnt going to use the autoroute anyway ,but what are the roads like in Morrocco ? I was thinking of buying a new motor to celebrate but if its a sports car would it get damaged ? cool
The roads in Morrocco are quite good particularly if you confine yourself to the coastal region, there are some quite 'swank' hotels to the west of Tangier.
Security is the biggest problem driving through Europe, a boot on the car is a good idea and be sure to keep anything of value in there when you are parked up, day or night, I even leave my glove compartment and armrest open to show that there is nothing work 'nicking'. The downside of a sports car would be keeping everything safe.
Id recommed driving through france down to St Tropez then across to Nice and ending up in Monaco! which is actually a lot cheaper than youd think! (as long as you stay away from the Casino area!)
All in all it would be a fantastic drive to three wonderful destinations that would make you the envy of all your friends!
As for buying a new car, id recommend a GT type of car (Volvo C70,BMW M3, etc) as they are like sports cars with the practicality of a saloon car! (and room for beautiful hitchikers biggrin )
:D
Cheers Voldo. Ive done the trip down to Monaco for the Gp on a few occasions. Car wise though I am torn because there is only me I dont need much luggage space.
I used to have a Ferrari 348 tb and Im now torn between a reliable but boring Porsche or a Ferrari F355 . confused:
