Hope for eczema sufferers

I just saw this on BBC News website. My son had eczema all through his childhood and I know how awful it can be for a tiny child.

i live in an area that has soft water and it made no difference to my sons symptoms whatsover

We dont suffer from eczema now but we do have a water softener fitted as the water is very hard here, I aint noticed much different other than I no longer have clumps of lime scale coming out of the taps I still get granule sized bits and the taste confused

So to be honest I cant see it helping a great amount.
Both me and my son suffered with bad eczema living in a soft water area though dunno

If it helps though it can only be a good thing

I live Sheffield which is a soft water area. I suffer from Eczema. Dont hold your breath folks. Had it since I was 6 weeks old. Its worse now than it ever was.

I'm pretty sure (dim memories of chemistry module at Uni) that water from a 'water softener' is not the same as what we traditionally call soft water from the ground.
For those who are suffering it may be worth a little investigation.
