Does anyone like them???
We are watching 'Hostel' at the moment - it's horrendous! I've come on here to distract myself, but I still feel sick to the bone!
Den, on the other hand, appears to be loving it!
I'm still part glued to it - is that the appeal??? Some horrors I quite like, has anyone else seen hostel???
m xxx

Personally, they dont do it for me, and I cant understand what the appeal is when all you have to look forward to, is to piss or shit your pants, or spew that chicken balti all over the poor bastard who's sitting in front of you. Maybe its some kind of fetish! wink
Oh, and btw, I know, I was that 'poor bastard'.
my first real adult book was "surviour" by James Herbert when i was 12yrs and when i turned 13 i watched "the exocist" on video at home. my dad had one of the first vhs video players and we rented it and my brother charged his friends to come and watch. it took me 3 sittings to see it in full and since then i never watched any as my ex never liked them. so i cant really rate them against the new batch as it were. maybe when i get to know some of you guys more we can set up a film club for the locals.
I prefer ghost stories to out-and-out horrors.
My favourite is called 'The Changeling', starring George C Scott.
Really spooky.

and when you've finished the round about 15 books in the series so far, you will need to read the mayfair witch trilogy also lol
were you planning on going out anytime soon lol
I enjoy horror films, I can't remember the last good one i saw thou confused
I went to see The Grunge........I didn't think to much of it, but my son thought it was the scariest film he had ever seen. I've seen Saw and I was bored rolleyes
Mind you I did enjoy Blade and Underworld, mind you there not really horror are they confused

i thought the saw was naff too
blade and underworld now you are talking my language
I'm not a horror fan at all, too much unnecessary blood guts and screaming rolleyes , be quiet ffs and take it like a man lol
I'm not much of a film buff/cinema goer I guess, but what I do like is psychological thrillers & will still say to date one of the best films I've seen is Silence of the Lambs (the book is far better though) - had me on the edge of my seat and whooping at the end cos I thought the 'having an old friend for dinner' bit was fookin genius! lol
it sounds daft but old films, esp with scenes of someone being followed (the camera moving behind them) scare me stupid cos you just know its coming but dont know when lol

I must admit, most horror films make me laugh because they are just soo far fetched and ridiculous.
This one did scare me a little in that the plot was more real - by that I mean that it's something that could happen rather than someting about vampires/werewolves etc.
and although some of the scenes were quite fake, the actual acts were quite real

Which version? The Sarah Michelle Geller one or the original Japanese(?) one?
I've got the original one. Very strange and disturbing.
Someone mentioned Blade :smitten: :smitten:
I love Blade, he's my hero!!!!
:inlove:
Bloody good films too
Ah, horror films. I am of the opinion that all films would be better if they had zombies eating people's faces.
That would have made movies such as Romeo and Juliette much more watchable for me.
'But soft - what light from yonder window breaks?
Tis a zombie - and he's going to EAT YOUR FACE!'
Someone ought to give me several million pounds so I can make that movie - I have it all planned out and everything....
Oooh Blade!!! Yep I like that.

I'm a bit put off by horror films at the moment - I can't remember the last one that actually scared me. I think I overdosed on the splatter films of the 80's and now just find them funny.
The original Japanese version of The Ring was eerie. Candyman was the last time I was scared at the pictures. The Blade movies were great action fims but not scary. I like the Resident Evil films a lot, but thats because they have Mila Jovovich and zombies.
My favorite ever horror films are Evil Dead 2, Return of the Living Dead and Hellraiser. I am waiting for something to come out that is actually scary, now. In fact, none of the above were really scary either... well, except maybe Hellraiser, though the book was scarier.

hmmm
i only knew about 3
I haven't read them all I must admit. Anne rice seems to me to be a bit like Terry Pratchett - bangs out the novels and they're either really good fun or, enh.
Now to me hostels not a horror film, horror films to me are the likes of nightmear on elm street and other such like crap lol Hostels just sick and it worries me people want to watch that kinda thing confused
