Rack Rate is the published hotel rate - i.e. their full rate.
I always thought that the Rack Rate refered to the prices available for reps and that this had more or less been made obsolete by the internet.
I know that recently ive booked hotels through the net at cheaper prices than they were advertising for their rack rate
The rates given to reps, where the bill goes to the company are Corporate Rates. Rack rate, is what hoteliers refer to them as i.e. the full rate but they dont necessarily call it that in their advertising.
Internet rates, where their site links to their reservation system (also known as PMS) should always be cheaper as there is no effort inputting on behalf of the hotel
