How did this site take off?

Can anyone tell me when this site first came online and has it alwaus been known as SH?
Just curious really, i've looked at a couple of different sites and they dont compare. So, what made this the place to be then? The amount of people on here compared to a lot of other related sites is frighteningly large, so is the harmony and friendhsip. smile

So all I wanna know is who dreamt this up and put it on the road to where it is now?

Yes of course, I've been a member of the board for a year, met a couple of people, had adverts on here and pics of my ass.

Im only curious as to why it has the following it has now, I guess the fact that it's totally free plays a large part. I've ran a couple of websites before, not related to this subject though and it's hard enough getting them off the ground nevermind getting the huge following we have here.

Well, it kind of works like this:
Back on May 21 2003 Mark, SteveG, Jags, Harry O, and a few others were sitting around her chatting, people liked what they heard and joined in.
And it has been like that ever since.
If anybody could figure out WHY it works so well - then there would be more sites enjoying the same success.

The answer is 20 May 2003, and yes, it was always Swinging Heaven. There is some information on Mark and why he started it if you click on "About us" on the menu to your left.
