How do I go about down sizeing pics?

How to?
1) Find where the kitchen scissors are.......usually anywhere than the kitchen
2) Hold up picture and decide how small you want it
3) Pick up scissors and hold against picture
4) Cut
5) Go to kitchen and find first aid box, take out plaster and apply to cut finger/s
6) Attempt second cut with no sensation in fingers due to plasters........no longer a straight cut
7) Try and trim off second cut
8) Get frustrated as picture gets smaller & smaller
9) Say feck it and tell the missus to do it her self

On a similar note - I have an animated gif I'd like to use as my avatar but it's currently too big. Is there a piece of software that will resize the whole gif in one go or do I need to resize each pic and reanimate?

Aah, its all clear now. I did wonder how HR & Dino managed the fancy images, particulalry as they havent got the brains between them to power a monkey - they got a geek to do it!

My hubby did mine for me heheeh
He has a little program installed called "microsoft power tool - image resizer"
all it does is makes it so when you right click on a pic you see a new menu that says resize picture ya just select what size you want it then
if you go here
and download the set of powertoys
image resizer is among them..great little easy to use program for windows xp only though
