We have decided, after much thought, to put pics on the site, but, we're thicko's on a computer, help!! How do we 'download' from the computer to here?

How to download pics?

Go to Photo's over there <<<<< then click on the upload tab.
Click choose and you get to browse the pics on your computer and then upload. Click in the little 'make private' box it you dont want your picture to be for public viewing.

My Photos > Upload Tab > Choose >
you should then see Windows file open box popup on your screen.
Select the sub-directory where your photo's are stored.
Select the photo you wish to upload.
Note the photo has to be 2Mb or less in size and in .jpeg format.
return to the SH Upload page - you should see the file name in the Choose Photo line.
optional - add your own comment / make the picture private only > click on upload.
The file transfer will then take place.
Once the photo is 'approved' by a Mod then it can be seen on your profile or in your private folder.

Assuming you have Windows installed:-
Windows Start Button > All Programmes > Accessories > Paint.
Open your photo in Paint and click > File > Save As and select File Type JPEG > Save.
check that the file size is 2Mb (2048kb) or less, then try the upload.

The quick way in Paint is to use the 'Select' tool, and crop the image to about 2/3rds, press Ctrl+X on the keyboard together, then go to File New and press Ctrl+V to paste the selected image into a new file - save to jpeg format and upload.
Alternatively you can download a number of image manipulation tools from the web which will resize the photo for you.
