Not so long ago Utopia (West Mids) went through some changes in management and seemed to go down hill a bit. It also seemed to disappear from SH's listings.
Unfortunately just at that time my membership ran out and I wasn't going to renew it if the place was not going to get back onto its feet again.
Has anyone been there lately and has it improved? Or is it worth avoiding for a bit until things sort themselves out?
Cheers
I haven't been in a few months and when I drive past it late of a weekend there aren't cars parked on the verge as there used to be so I gather its still quiet ...
DD xx
Well can only hope it picks up again, it used to be a great place.
Utopia was removed by us at the request of the owners.... I am not sure if it is even open now?...
Their web site is still going but it doesn't look as though it has been updated recently.
Would be a shame to see such a great premises disappear.
It is still open but the prices went up last Xmas and it has resulted in a lower attendance.
They certainly seemed to disappear off the face of the planet, things may have been going through a rough patch but they seemed to do a good job.
Hi,
Started off our swinging career at Utopia but havent been since Dec 05. It is a big club with a lovely pool. Its now under new management and I dont know what it is like. They have taken their listing off here as they were getting bad reviews. Pricey to get in on Fri and Sat £35 for couples but they have now dropped the disastrous £25 registration fee for couples on top of the entrance fee policy. We found last December that it was attracting a rougher crowd eg youngsters playing volleyball in the pool instead of canoodling. No objections to pool volleyball but feel the local baths would be a better location for it. It is still open tho. We will go back if we are passing through the midlands but our favourite and only club this year has been The Townhouse on the Wirral..defo worth a visit!
