Just to clarify:
I wasn't criticising anyone for letting their child have a dummy - I did say that mine had one. They grew out of them earlier than some children do, later than some others. I didn't force them to give up the dummy. I was just adding something else to think about, just as you added the 'lisp' comment (whether it's true or not is irrelevant). It's what I was told by the orthodontist who treats my children; that doesn't necessarily mean that others will give the same reason for overbite. Nor does it mean that all children who have a dummy will have misaligned teeth.

Nope, not at all.
Oh dear - for not wanting to sounding like a smart arse, my daughter never took to a dummy :shock: She does suck her thumb occassionally, but mind I sucked mine til I was 13 (mmmm wonder why I feel the need to suck other things now

My nephew used to always have a dummy, either in his mouth or in his hand ready to go in his mouth. Except when he was at my Mum's. He'd be playing or whatever, then he'd start crying. Everyone would start frantically searching for his dummy, knowing that was what was missing. More often than not, they would find it behind the settee - being sucked by their very large Dobermann puppy

:D :D There's a parallel universe into which 'lost' things go and disappear forever, things like odd socks and cheap biros and anything you put into 'a safe place'. I suspect dummies can find their way in there too. I'm told it's accessible through the back of a washing machine but I'm not about to look in case I get pulled in and have my socks harvested.
We took our 2yr old daughters dummy's of her two weeks ago as she was continually walking round with 4 or 5 stuck in her hands and 1 in her mouth. She forgot about them after two night's. Pretty lucky really.
A good place to hide your dummy's would be where you keep your medicines out of reach ect..

To be honest with you sierra I've found fuck all worth finding up here at the moment. It's a bit of a shock cos it's not a pretty sight, there's all sorts of sloppy gloppy looking things in here. The only thing it's done for me so far, apart from giving me a shock, is to reafirm my belief in creation as opposed to evolution, cos it's clear to me, that someone made a concious effort, to put us together with the skin on the outside and the gloopy bits on the inside, because if he had done it the other way round, then theres no way I would get a shag cos pretty it ain't.

We said that he had had his turn with it. We never thought in a million years he would give it up but he did!
