Yes this is a poor me post redface

................ I feel like I am loosing my marbles......
mad

I have writers block and cant think of anything remoting decent to put in my essay
:x I am extremely poor to the point of selling my body
:x I have really bad lower back ache (nothing to do with acrobatic positions sexually)
:x I have another essay to write after this one which is even harder
:x I havent started revising yet
and all i want to do is to lock myself in a room and :cry:

There is a cure, Alex, but it does mean an extreme measure!!!
We deactivate you until you have completed your essay. Only once you have emailed it to us as confirmation, do we re-activate you. The shock in itself will resolve your back situation and by having all this extra free time on your hands (approximately 25 hours a day!), you will be in a better position to get yourself a job.
Simple, really - just say the word!!! lol

Stone me Alex! I'm doing a Masters myself but I don't even understand your essay question! :shock: But I know what you mean about poverty, writers block and getting down to it! Will do all sorts to get out of actually writing ... alcohol ... sex ... continuous masturbation. God its hard being a student ... even a mature one!!

my other half is a student, pain in the arse he is, but as he has to write everyday, we both know all too well what u are going thru. He's quite good at helping others sort themselves out and extrememly good at motivation... give us a shout if u are really in a bad way.

Alex, try listing your points, and then begin by joining them in some kind of sentence structure. Once you get going, you may find it's the starting point you need to start building on an essay.
Sounds daft, but it sometimes helps to get past the block. Leave the intro and conclusion until later, after you`'ve had a break from the main bulk, and have had time to read through it all when you are refreshed.

Categories of social influence: Conformity, compliance, and obedience
A. Social influence is defined as a change in behavior caused by real or imagined pressure from others.
1. Conformity changing oneâ€™s behavior to match the behavior of others. Here the element of pressure is most indirect. We will conform without any direct pressure simply because we imagine:
a) The possibility of pressure from others
b) The disapproval of others, even if unstated
c) Our own discomfort with the imagined responses of others
2. Compliance is a response to a direct request
3. Obedience is a response to a direct request from a higher status person who is in a position of authority

It is a facinating subject. When I read onto compliance, it states all the tactics that are used by sales personnel et al.. Once I read about them I found it easier to spot and therefore easier to resist.
