I went to buy some silver bulbs for my car that cost & came away with a new set of alloys & tyres at a cost of £520....Whoops. confused
But my car is my passion/hobby & I spend all my extra cash on him... :color:
What is your indulgance ...that you just cant stop yourself buying - even something as simple as CD's etc..which also take a lot of my money ?

I used to own a 172, and sorry to say but if I paid £520 for a set of alloys and tyres I doubt I would ever have pushed it over 70 again or turn off the traction control (bloody spoilsport that invention), last time I bought a set of new tyres for it, it cost nearly £650 and that didn't include alloys! Remember, at the end of the day the only thing in contact with the actual road are your tyres...don't skimp on em!
My new passion is my Reiki and my latest car.
Fran
What is your indulgence?
chewing tobacco *spit* Yee haw!
Kinky Lizard
My first vice was CDs. I had a huge shock some years ago when my collection was stolen and I calculated the value. Had I really spent that much? Well, I've spent it again (and more) since then and enjoyed every moment.
It's not possible to spend too much on travel.
Fran I really wish I could understand your post .... what is a 172 and Reiki?
am I really that old?
sorry
feeling very much the Tog

I can't seem to stop spending money on Ebay rolleyes
Some excellent buys, but also some where I was obviously not thinking straight when bidding - eg 50 pots of stain devils for £6 .... Thing is, they're all the same stain devil, to get coffee and tea out .... I don't drink that much coffee or tea!!! dunno
..... but that's not the point, they were a bargain! They are now safely tucked away in my 'just in case' cupboard 8)
Misschief could I possibly live in your 'just in case' cupboard?
Just in case.........
A Lizard who is kinky
Love it Misschief...
as an ebay babe
what do you think of my chances of getting rid of 40 years worth of national geographic mags?

A 172 is the model car I own...a Clio 02 model...
Fran,
The reason I got the tyres & wheels so cheap is I worked in the car modding & tuning trade for 14 years so know quite a few people ...the tyres are not cheapos but yokohamas which are superb but I tend to get thru a few as I do track days in the car..
I drive too fast & too many miles to be anything but safety orientated...

ooopps thats me told
bends over and waits expectantly!!! wink
Gman,
A 172, is a car , a Clio 172. Designed by Renualtsport, its quite a nifty little number, the 172 is from the bhp it has.
Reiki is my passion, it is a complimentary therapy. A bit of a healing hands thing which some people may poo poo, but it makes me feel wonderful.
Love Fran
xxxxxxx
I spend far too much on Eva...She's my German redhead. (yep..she's the bike wink ) But now I've got into streaming mp3's around the house, garden and sheds I've been throwing money at wifi networks and music servers and things I never knew I needed. Sad I know.....I must get out more.
What party????
fran ...
thanx
for that
Moist has put me in my place re 172.... I think my little motor has about 40 BHP .... but hey who says size is everything... I am hoping now she will take me for a ride and show me what I have been missing!!!
I can still beat most things off the line at the lights, when they get to 2nd gear I am dead.... game I always played when I had a mini 1000... sports cars hated it teehee
as for Reiki, I have heard of it as an alternative therapy but know nowt about it ... care to share... and as for those that pooh pooh... I take it Fred is not one of those???!!!

My indulgences?? biggrin
White Egyptian cotton sheets :D
Music :D
Good food with good friends (looks round forum for some) :D
Books - art history theory for 'work' and trashy detective stories for light entertainment :D
'don't drink, don't smoke... what do you do?' - well, OK.. just don't smoke!!
Cars aren't a passion for me,just a means of getting from A - B. My present car is three years old soon and needs changed, when it was bought (for me) the dealer rang and asked what I wanted.. I said ' a blue one with a CD player in'...easy!
Mine are perfume, underwear, and candles. I know that last one is a bit weird but hey - I like them and have been known to spend quite a lot of money on candles which will never burn.
My other indulgence is rugby, I spend a small fortune, not only on tickets and flights/accommodation but also on merchandise redface I am now banned from buying anything remotely related to rugby after spending an obscene amount of money for a programme on ebay it was beans on toast for a month! I have a fantastic collection of programmes, all kept immaculately, and one day they will be my fortune. *Mr BE shouts from the background "if she would ever give them up"*
I can sympathise with you DJohn, I remember the panic setting in when I walked into my flat and it had been burgled. I was lucky though, being a student meant I hadn't taken my whole collection with me, only around 230 CD's had gone  It took me days to get over the horror and be able to think straight about the ones that I had actually lost.
MrsFC's passion is underwear and very nice it is too biggrin Only thing I can't figure out how to get the stockings on! redface
Music and books: which is why I hate Amazon! Just too damned convenient. Bit like the Forum: finger hovers over the mouse and then..click...I'm romping around like a duck in an incontinent's knickers.
I'm also a sucker for wine: they see me coming, and as long as it says £3 off, I think I've got bargain of century.
Not interested in cars, clothes, wallpaper, walls, windows, water...all that consumer stuff. But I like a good meal....any offers? Free wlidlife lecture to genuine applicants?
Yes, that was the worst part of it. The police wanted a list of all of the CDs that had gone (to give to pawn shops and so on, I assume). It took me a week. I still have a copy, and I'm still ticking off CDs as I find replacements.
No, that's not true. That was the second worst part. The worst part was discovering that my beloved Not Drowning, Waving CDs had been out of print for years and were no longer available. If anyone here has a copy of Tabaran, I'd do anything.
I feel your pain, DJohn. There are some of mine which will never be replaced. It's even worse when someone special (like a dead relative) gave them to you - it's just not the same getting another copy!
I've been reminded of another passion of mine...finding a hairdresser I am comfortable with.
I have a fear of hairdressers, especially female ones (wonder if there is a name for that?) and once I find one, I just won't go to anyone else. Three years ago, I went 15 months without getting my hair cut because my hairdresser had packed in and I just couldn't face going into another shop. Finally, I found another one and he's just the best. The only downpoint is that he works almost 75 miles away from me. This is not so bad if I can get a lift to the hairdressers as it only takes about 90 minutes in the car but I hate the days when I have to get two buses and it's a 3 hour trip each way sad

Yep, know exactly where you're coming from with that one Blue Eyes.
I had 2 traumatic experiences, the first one was when I went to get my waist length hair cut into a 'wedge' - came out with the biggest set of hairsprayed flicks ever - the ones where if the wind was behind you, the flicks stayed the same but blew at right angles to your head. confused
The other one was about 5 years later, hadn't been to a hairdresser since the first time and finally plucked up the courage to get one of those very trendy spiral perms - came out with a massive affro!!! I looked about 2 ft taller than when I went into the place!
Well, this is an easy one.. I'm as materialistic as they come!
I indulge myself as often as I can. The problem is, when you indulge so frequently the little things give you less and less pleasure.
1) Beauty products (I'm still saving up for that £1000 fruits de la mer!)
2) Hair. I sympathise with you BlueEyes, a good hairdresser is hard to find!
3) Manicures and pedicures. The problem with them is you need them every two weeks... so they become not a luxury but a basic necessity.
4) Tanning and spas. See above.
5) Shoes. Strangely... not clothes (?) But there is exquisite pleasure in purchasing a red stilletto.
But does anyone agree with me that there is more pleasure in purchasing than there is in owning? What is better than coming home laden with shopping bags! wink
*hides under table*
I remember my hair falling out after being fried by a perm. I guess I am extra careful about my hair because I lost it all when I had chemo and the thought of being bald again frightens me too much!!! But the thing that scares me most about hairdressers is the small talk.
Where you going on holiday this year? who knows, if I hadn't spent £550 on a rugby programme on ebay, maybe I could afford one *hairdresser looks as if to say, what is ebay?*
What did you do at the weekend? I had a gangbang with a few couples I know, you? *hairdresser then falls over*
I'm also with you there, Red Velvet. I must be the only woman on earth who is dragged kicking and screaming to the shops by her partner. I hate standing in shops, I hate crowds, I hate having to walk 5 miles before you can find somewhere in town that has an available table for lunch but I LOVE walking into the house with lots of bags, chucking them down and putting the kettle on.
lol
Moist - I like your latest Avatar - best yet.
My indulgences are:-
1) CDs - built up huge collection and had to sell many off before it got out of hand. Now have to use all my willpower not to get carried away every week
2) Massages - I love full body massages and wish I could afford one every week at least
3) Guitars - I had 3, sold one recently, and if I earned a little more money I would buy this instantly:-

The Gibson Les Paul Standard 2004 - what a beautiful object.
-
Books.
I can sympathise with your CD burglary djohn. I had a house fire and lost nearly 3,000 books.
E-bay has been pretty good for replacing my signed copies though , two more this week. biggrin
Don't tell Tim that last bit
*has been known to sneak onto ebay in the middle of the night*
Your secret is safe with me!! wink
