antique suitcase.
My mum bought be a beautiful antique suitcase (c. 1930) from a French antique/flea market and I have quickly come to love it. It never fails to spark conversation at train stations or airports and, for me, feels soooooo much more character-ful and tactile than your regular pull on luggage.
What possession do you love? What wouldn't you be without?
My ipod... Its my life.
Had to think long and hard about this one as I have ehh cough cough one or two gadgets .redface
It would probably be my mobile as it has my life on it and before anyone jumps in ......... yep it's not that big or that full either lol
My laptop, it's my entire job!
My Nans necklace which I've had since we lost her 3 years ago.
I wear it sometimes and remember the most wonderful memories of a woman I adore.
It offers me comfort and makes me feel like she is protecting me at times. Luckily enough, I don't need to wear it that often, it is really old and unattractive to others. To me is beautiful.
I'd hate to be without it confused

That's really lovely kiss
I now feel a t**t saying my laptop!
My Kate. :smitten:
My Friends. drinkies
An', in no particular order: My Bike; my computer; my netbook (new toy); my camera; my small watch collection.
Of course this is only correct at this moment. If any one of the things above increases my stress levels it can quickly fall out of favour. :haha:
my easel ..... its huge and bulky and we really have no room for it ... but as soon as I put a canvas on it, the world is good!!
My Blackberry is pretty cool too!! (I can now perv on the go!) lol

What have you done wrong?
bolt
Dawnie that's lovely! kiss
And Easy... you're too cute!
It's a tough one for me... there are lots of bits and pieces that I love, I like old things that have history. I have an old antique cabinet in my hall with all sorts of bits in it. I love my cabinet. It's perhaps a little weird but I've just put Monty's ashes box in there this morning... I like that there's a little bit of him here with me.
I do love my Digby but today he's driving me mental! :giggle:

they aren't my possessions but the things i couldn't live without are,
my children, kev,my friends, anything else is replaceable.

Beautiful passionkiss quite right Kaz and I would agree whole heatedly
However there are many things I hold close to my heart, such as my Grandfathers medals from the first and second world war, and my fathers medals amongst other memorabilia.
my journal ..........
when i was 12 i was given a diary book to write in and from that day i've written in it.... dear me some of the things that have been put in my journal perfh warped i tell thee warped !
but it is my comfort when everythin is sufocating me i just let the pen write it all away and when ive had a fantastic day it all gets remembered !

So do I, with a few fava beans and a nice little Chianti.
Reminds me of a great saying : the best things in life aren't things.
But if we are looking at things - I absolutely love kitchen gadgets, out of them I would reckon my favourite is the apple processing machine. You shove an apple on the prongs, turn the handle and the cutter peels it and the corer (guess, go on, guess) yes that's right - it cores it. :giggle:
It sticks to the work surface by a vacuum (worked by a dinky little lever) and washes just be being put under a running tap. (The food processor rarely gets used for the opposite reason - it's an absolute bugger to clean.)
For a single apple I'm faster with a peeler and knife - but when I have 30 lb of apples off my tree (previous house - sadly) it is a life-saver.
I deliberately said 'possession' in my OP because I was fairly certain most folks on here do rate their loved ones more highly than mere things.
That doesn't reveal much about them. Which possession they rate however, does. wink
I like kitchen gadgets too Foxylady. I just wish I had a huge kitchen to fill with such delights!

He he - have you ever used a juicer... ? Obviously also invented by someone who has never, ever had to clean one!
I also wouldn't be without my Tom Tom. I'm not really a gadgets person at all but that is one of the most useful things I've ever bought!
smile x
Oooooh now, kitchen gadgets... I just bought an Anthony Worrell Thompson Intelligent Blender and it's brilliant! You chuck the stuff in, press the relevant button and go away and do something else and it switches itself off when it's done!
Sadly not so intelligent it cleans itself but it is fairly easy to wash the jug! lol

my rag doll...my mum made it for me when I was 6 years old...Im now 39. 'Dolly' has seen me through the traumas of school... a few housemoves and leaving friends behind.....exams, bullies and my first love and first broken heart....been with me on many a holiday....Belgium in a hotel, camping in a tent, on the Isle of Man Ferry
Shes listened to me rant on about the yukky and nasty bits of work, as well as been regaled with stories of drunken works nights out, shes heard my hopes, dreams and fears, shes been a head rest, a neck warmer, a tear dryer, handy nose wiper, foot warmer, cuddle comforter, nervous twiddly thing.
shes been patched up, repaired, re-sewn, her legs are made of gaudy stripy socks sewn on over her legs with brown button cotton, when i was about 8, her hair is lopsided, her (6th) face is tearstained, her body is patched up with an old baby vest, and she wears a dress that was my baby sisters (shes now 30).
She has never judged me, mocked me or answered back, shes always been there for me...shes still smiling....and she's still on my bed now!

She sounds positvely - - - fragrant. LOL
I have a Tiger (not Tigger from W-t-P) that was given to me at 1 and been with me for the last 45 years now. He now lives in secluded comfort in my wardrobe. biggrin He's semi-bald from 'hair-dreeesing' attempts at about 6. :D

Awwwww... that's cute. I have one of those... Loppylugs! :giggle:
He's been mended I don't know how many times, stuffed with newspaper and his bells in his ears have been replaced often. I tend to agree with Foxy though... he's safe in a glass box frame these days, I suspect he smells musty! lol
awww hes so cute DG smile...wonder how many other members have similar such childhood friends.
I must point out, that 'dolly' gets washed sometimes...but she has to be almost vacuum packed into a pillowcase, so she cant flail about in the washer too much and be 'injured'....i fear if she was given room to move, that she would disintegrate into a pile of fluff!
life
i must say everything about my life is perfect
to complete it next year i will have done everything i have ever wanted to do and its not been a small list either
but if i had to be specific then Liza xxx

I think he used to be furry! lol I'm sure he would disintegrate if I put him in the washing machine... apart from the fact that he has newspaper in one leg I fear he wouldn't survive a spin cycle!
