The more I have thought about this the more I am beginning to see that such ideas are getting away from the simple basics of sexual encounters. Its probably more than enough to have a web site; because it presents more possibilities and opportunities than are possible to fulfill. Adding more layers of procedures between people just makes this unfulfillment even more so.
I am sure a system can be devised that works, if people find they are going to use it. But its the nature of the system which then takes over and could perhaps dominate the more simpler process of surprise, chance and encounter. All of which are vital to creating that intial spark and chemistry; and which lead to truly gorgeous shagging.
But these devices are just exploiting one's longings and wishes. They add to the burden of unfulfilled desires. Is it not better to feel unfilled by a fantasy of someone you have actually met or even seen, rather than a desire created from pursuing something which has no real substance; that has been created because you have been feverishly searching, and begun to imagine them.
I just can't see that people will come to depend on such a device to find real valuable encounters. It doesn't need to be there when they happen. A system may have some use, But I can only see it as an initial step in making an encounter. But thereafter it would not really be needed. You would have found your form and the route to making new friends.
We think a verification system is a great idea, we have use it on many other sites we have been members of.
We use it as a guide, in general if they have turned up and actually played with others then it's a fair bet they are genuine. How else can you find out if someone is genuine? speaking on the phone or even camming is no guarantee, we have done this many times before and they still didn't turn up or cancelled last minute.
Having a verification system doesn't mean you have to take part in that system, it can be your own personal choice, but not having a verification system means we have NO choice!
Finally because this site does not have a verification system, which we like in the other sites we use, we have decided to NOT pay our membership fees when due for renewal and will pay to be members of another site with a verification system.
It is a sign of age not wanting change and doing everything possible to resist anything new that "may" upset the applecart and status quo.
I think that the owning company must realise that the percentage of "users" as opposed to "members" is so astronomicaly disproportionate that something has to be done to protect the brand name (SWINGING HEAVEN) from falling foul of the trade descriptions act :-)
Embrace change folks, rejoice in it and go forth into the new world light of foot and full of excitement - you never know - it may just be a change for the good. Bottom line, in my opinion, is that all changes so far have been for the better despite rants from a few die hards about photo tagging etc etc.
Keep up the good work and bring on more changes.
Am I alone in feeling patronised by the assumption that because I don't like the sound of this change, I'm some sort of dinosaur?
How did this unwritten rule that all change is good come about?
I do embrace change. I strive for change. I've never even joined a "bring back the old Facebook" group. I get bored very easily. I like things that evolve and develop. Oddly enough, I thought about this change, considered it, and on balance decided that in my opinion it wasn't for the best.
It no more means I'm a luddite than you would be if the government decided all car windows should be blacked out to prevent glare...and you disagreed.
Disagree with me by all means- but please refrain from being condescending toward all the people here who are capable of rational thought and just happen to have come to a different conclusion than your own.
