Hi everyone.. I'm picking what's left of your frazzled brains here lol
Does anyone know of any 'work from home' jobs that aren't scams? I'm desperate to earn some money and have my evenings free but am struggling to get a regular job due to pregnancy and other issues. What I don't want is something where I would have to be distrubutiing catalogues or working as an agent in a pyramid scheme. Also can't hold Anne summers style party's. Ideally it would be something like packing envelopes etc (without the ridiculous start-up fee)
So do any of you already do anything like this or know of anyone who does and recommend a reputable place to start?

Ermmmm I know a woman who posted a £70 an hour 'service' on a website to makea few quid............
NO IT WASN'T ME!!!
It springs to my mind that being pregnant you will know all about maternity fashions, also babywear etc. This knowledge would place you in an ideal position to start trading in these sorts of goods, pehaps using ebay.
If you want some ideas on sources of stock etc pm me
I work from home part time i work for a branch of social services called Adult Placement, you,re asked to invite a person of either special needs or an elderly person and give them a chance to join in the day to day family activities for a couple of hours a week. you get a voluntary contrbution but you can also claim expenses ie; traveling expenses on top of your £10 for every 3 hours they,re in your care. It,s a very rewarding job and you,re not expected to go out of your way to do anything special you even get paid to go to the meetings and to the social gatherings too.
Just a though ...Ann xx
Just another thought , if you have secretarial skill advertise in your local paper, students are always looking to have work professionaly typed as are small businesses.
xxdevil69, i am also pregnant and have the same problem as you, i have been to so many sites looking for home work ive now lost count. i still havent found anything myself and have opted for a childminding course, though with pregnancy making me feel like pooh i dont think i'll have the energy to being looking after other peoples children aswell as my own 4 year old! envelope packing sounded like a great option for me, but i havent found any genuine companys who dont ask for money up front. i did at one point send money to a company (stupid i know, but was desperate) and surprise surprise didnt get any work!!
good luck in finding something, and if anyone knows of anything i could do also i would be very grateful to recieve a pm.

It was mentioned above about selling baby stuff, maternity clothes etc.
This is a great way to make yourself some money, my friend did this during her pregnancy and it was good company for her while her man was out working as people come to your house to look at the clothes.
It keeps you busy too but you do go through alot of teabags let me say, lol. Also toys and stuff cause with it coming up for christmas (aargh) lots of people will come your way to buy them.
Hope you find something soonx

Cooking, cleaning, washing, ironing - no hang on, that is a housewife, and you said no scams!
What about looking at something like home tutoring?

Or if you find any local companies who outsorce packaging or sub assembly work, obviousl nothing you will need complex machinery for but the more mundane, packing, or collating things together type of work.
What about chat lines.....not calling them but being called...not sure how u go about it....but im sure there is alot of money to b made...just a thought redface
I work from home doing bits and pieces, as i have absolutely no one to collect kids from school and nursery and cant afford child care.
I currently have an Avon round which i dreaded, but i love it now and have some lovely customers. I also am a Mystery Shopper, and my assignment has been ongoing for 4+ years now, but its not all the time. Every 3 months i get asked to order online from SainsburysToYou, then i have to write a report on, ordering online, delivery standards, food quality, politeness of driver etc etc. The STY order is usually about £80 plus £5 delivery fee, then they pay me to do it which is £10. The best thing is, is that they pay me all costs PLUS i get to keep all the shopping! lol I'll pm you the company details that i work for, they are based in Stockport.
ps. if anyone else has work like this that can easily fit around kids, please let me know.
how about proofreading, i'm not sure exactly what the requirements are, apart from being able to read !! but is definitely a work from home job. there are adverts all over my uni offering the proofreader service and they charge £10 hr. i know that there companies that do such a service but not sure how you would contact them.
just a thought....... biggrin
good luck
If you are able to use a decent DTP package then local printing firms might offer you work producing artwork from customers' sketches.
Tom was offered work like that a few years ago but too much enjoyed being a layabout.
Another idea but needs a bit of outlay on laminating manchinery is using the same DTP software to produce menus for small pubs - Tom actually did that for a few years. Not a huge amount of money in it but steady work if you can get out there and do a sales job.
PM me if you want to know how to set it up - don't want to bore everybody.
