if your life to was to change and you become a famous person or some one who had the spotlight on there lives put out to the public how would you cope and what actions would you take to protect your family name confused:
for me i dont think i could cope as many others out there the intrusive digging and possiable slander would be devestating, not to me but to my family. what views do you lot have on this subject and are there any unknown celebs who have experianced this :?:
i would enjoy it for as long as it lasted - and throw the biggest munch ever seen in wales - only because it would be the only bloody munch held in wales sad
seriously anyone who says it wouldn't change them is a damn liar.
Well I get a bit pissed off with all those police and reporters hanging round my front door 24/7
and to tell the truth Im not that keen on the neighbours
and that George Bush calling me all times of the day and night
I mean FFS (tm Neilnnolongerinleeds) hows a bloke supposed to work on his legacy mad

my agent has advised me not too comment, as you will all be able to read it in my up and coming biography..too many women, such little time....
Hmmmm, interesting one.
I guess as my ambition in life is to win the BDO World Professional Darts Champion and darts ain't exactly the biggest sport in the world, I guess I wouldn't find it too difficult coping with the fame (and the obvious fortune that goes with it).
I'm much of a people person anyway, so I guess I'd enjoy it to a point. Darts players don't really get much publicity, not like footballers, cricketers and rugby players so it probably wouldn't be quite so bad.
Having met current darts World Champion, Raymond van Barneveld (and have to say what a nice bloke he is too) and asked him a similar question, he said it's harder over in Holland where darts is now the number one sport, but over here in England it's not quite so much pressure.
So at the end of the day, I guess it depends what, you're famous for.
good on yer bob.
i play county and super league in suffolk, strange rules though, double start and finish confused
not sure why but there you go....
what about you??
i have played agaist barny and also mervin king, beat him 5-2 in local compition recently..
just a few to name but thats what its all about, no high wages and no bull?????? lol
Have often wondered if I would want to be famous and come to the conclusion that I would prefer to be the brains making someone else famous - the man in the shadows so to speak. Mainly because you could still do what you want without having to hide it but also wouldn't want to inflict the whole 'fame game' on friends and family that hadn't asked for it.
For me respect is more important than fame and being a succesfull persons right hand man gains you respect within your industry without the aggrevation and hassle of modern day fame.
I, like most, thought it would be fab. In no way have I been famous, but when I had my 15 mins, I really got bored with the journo phone calls, every day.
The photo shoots made me really nervous. Odd really, as it was photo's that got me there.
I didn't want people to know my surname as it's the same as my kids, and very uncommon, but all the papers wanted it, so I used another name.
We have kept all the tabloids and magazines, mind. Will be good to look back on.
Being on The Salon, as a result, was fun though. The resulting haircut was fab, but the colour they dyed it was not!
Would I do it again? With my vanity? DAMN RIGHT I WOULD!
I'm doing my best to become famous! I reckon I'd love it, loads of parties and well, loads of parties really.

but the point being how would you cope with all the other hassle..
let me try and explain, say your in the national papers today and on your way home that night you fancy a shag, so you stop off at the local dogging site and well bobs your uncle, the next day your in the sport?????????? how would you react to that??????
I dont want to be famous, I just want to be rich! I couldnt cope with people knowing everything about me. For a start, people might find out about my friends on this site and I would have to stop playing! And I certainly wouldnt want that!

Spot on playfuljojo.
Fame is a hassle you can do without but if you can live the lifestyle of the rich but anonymous that would be best.
Basket Case
When I eventually take over the world I won't have to worry as I will tell the media what to say
I would sleep with the editor to ensure the story never made the papers (come back piers morgan!!)
Except if the editor was Janet Street Porter in which case I would say , "Publish and be damned"!!

Well I managed to get my ex full page topless in the sport! I've been naked on TV at the European MTV music awards. I perform in front of thousands of people wearing just a thong, I don't think a bit of dogging scandal would be much of a problem (apart from my gran disowning me!)
I'm famous for a few brief hours in certain laybys around the country
Does that count?
redface surprisedops:
does in my book - especially if it was the A470 lol

Nah there's no laybys big enough fer ES on the A470! rolleyes
The only common reason to become famous is to make lots of dosh. The rest of it is just a pain and is in fact the payback, especially if it is prolonged. Better to get loaded without getting famous in my book.
If you want to become famous just for the attention then I guess it'll fit.
mine would have to be PELE, BOBBY MOORE, SIR MATT BUSBY.
