I'm Whitby born n' bred. Ummm .... good luck! lol
I'll have you know us Yorkshire folk are very cultured, we enjoy the theatre, opera and fine dining, as well as mushy peas, bitter and fights!
Enjoy Whitby its a bit small and dull and everyone bangs on about Dracula but its alright.
I think you're all being very mean to us northerners.
I don't have a flat cap, or a whippet, and just as an aside, I don't think I have ever said 'eeeeee by gum' in my life!
(But I could if it would turn you on)
lol
Hey, nice to know you're moving up here with us northerners (even though it is to the wrong part of the north :rol : :P )
So if you're moving to Yorkshire, does that mean you'll have to start posting more like Neil now? confused :?:

Good point Missy. Are the other Warwicks staying in Warwick, or are they moving to Whitby, or are you all going your seperate ways now?
Good luck with the move Warwick.
You might want to take a good translator along to help with the Yorkshire lingo........ Just in case someone says "I was fettleing the other day and banged my noggin on the toilet seat..... Now i'm munk!!" biggrin

Just for the record, it's not the natives that 'bang on about Dracula' - its' the bluddy southerners and Yanks that come over for the quaint little holidays to the land that time forgot.
A wee bit of local information for ya ....
Legend has it that the town was cut off from the rest of civilisation during the Plague (many say it still is) and as a result, you'll come across many an inbred. The predominant features are round shoulders, big ears and flattish noses.
Anyone who goes by the surnames Noble, Belchamber, Broadley, Leadley or Hall are all most definitely related to each other.
Caedmon is a better secondary school than Eskdale (well, it was in my day).
The rivalry between the East and West sides of the town does exist and can get very nasty in the playground.
Those from the Valley are scorned and reviled. They are the true sheep shaggers.
Mr Chips on Church Street is the best chippy in town and don't believe the hype about The Magpie.
The harbour does stink and it's not just fish.
My old house is on a lot of the postcards.
Try to avoid the swing bridge at all costs. It always, always closes when you're in a rush to get to the other side of town. However, it is a very acceptable excuse for being late for work/school.
There are at least 2 members of SH that I went to school with in Whitby  and both answered to my ad.
Say hello to the good people in the Duke of York for me - my lovely ex-local.

.

I always thought the queue outside the Magpie was a little excessive and unnecessary when there are other perfectly good chippies close by biggrin
